Lobato Named Starter

Beardown,

You got to take a chill pill. Where is the loyality toward the coaching staff and the newly named quarterback. Dylan will get his shot this year IMHO. Back the program and the coaches. Lobato must have shown something during winter workouts and spring practice and now fall camp to be named starter. Time will tell if this is/was the best decision.

LOL. The players have no confidence in Lobato, just check out their tweets. I grew up Blue and Gold and this is the first year I'm considering not going to the first game. A guy busts his ass for 5 years and this is how they treat him? Yeah, no thanks.

Considering not going to the first game ?? What? Are you going to punish the coaching staff with that kind of childish thinking? Get a freakin grip!!

Beardown is just hoping that if he complains loud enough they will bring Downing and Petersen back!

Seriously though, I'm certain the coaching staff believes they are making the best decision to give the team a chance to win. This isn't little league where the coach starts his son no matter what. I'm sure we will probably see some of all the QB's and everyone will get some playing time.

To "Beardown" and all others loosely affiliated with his opinion,

Many players frequently visit this board to review the support that is being fostered in this community. However, you all have been harboring such animosity toward a subject in which you have little to no knowledge. Moreover, it appears that your allegiance is not with the success of the Bears program, but more particular to individuals and creating a negative atmosphere. As certain for every other aspect in life, sports are extremely subject to adaptation and alteration. Such holds evident for this newly revitalized UNC Bears program. Your animosity toward the players and coaches will only ostracize you amongst the Bear community; your negative input has little to no efficacy. These coaches are otherwise professionals in their careers, therefore, they've acquired a great deal amount of more knowledge about their decision making processes than you, I and all else. Why not support your reinvented Bears and base you opinion off of season performance instead of previous preconceived perceptions based upon old statistics and otherwise useless data. To all else, Than you very much for your support and loyalty to the program. CHEER THE BEARS ON SEPT. 3, 1:35 GO BEARS!

Screw you buddy. I'm 3rd generation UNC. Never doubt my allegiance. If the players can't support their QB, I can't either. I swear, just look at their tweets. They want a QB who A: Has senior leadership and B: Can actually get the ball in their hands. I don't blame them and I'm not the one putting it out in public, they're the ones tweeting. We are going to get killed on Saturday. I won't be there, I hope there's less than a 1,000.

GREAT REBUTTAL TO BEARDOWN! :thumb:

You guys are slamming me, but if a team doesn't support the QB, how can we? I keep saying this that if they're putting this out their in a public domain like Tweeter, it can't be a good thing. They don't support Lobato!!!

Unless it's CU or he's a fullback...

Sorry couldn't resist.

You say players are bashing the decision on Twitter, but I'm looking at their accounts and not seeing it. All I see is Chris Morris saying he thought Orms would get the nod.

I call BS on this one.

LOL

I was just about to post the same thing. Hey Beardown, why don't you post the links of these kids that are making these tweets. Because from what I found, there hasn't been much negativity.

What is the status on Lobato for Saturday?

I've been wondering the same thing - how are Seth, David Deans and John Burnley doing, and are they expected to play Saturday?

Haven't been able to find any updates on their status.

Either Seth is just fine or this is going to be a decision announced at kickoff.

Nothing in the Trib about who is starting, injured or playing.

The good news is, I have confidence in both our QBs, and the backups behind them for that matter.

I thought Baca looked pretty good. I liked the way he appeared confident and a leader out there. Orms should no longer be talked about as a starter. There is something wrong with his arm, he can't even throw a spiral anymore? His throws were pathetic. Lobato or Baca next week doesn't really matter because I think they both will play and the better QB will eventually separate himself from the other.

Look, you've had 8 posts and nearly every one of them is attacking Dylan Orms. As I said before, let the best quarterback be on the field. If Seth is healthy and it's him, then it's him. If it's Baca, okay. If the coaches go with Orms, I support their logic. No reason to call one of our players pathetic. He's still on the team and I'm not, so he's way better than I could ever hope to be.

We have a really bad habit of tearing other UNC Bears down to make our point. We have different qb camps and coaching camps and the amount of passion against the other side is alarming and to be honest a bit pathetic. Downing, Dalton, Collins etc are/were all Bears and tried very hard to win. They may not be who you would choose but they are what we had/have. Your guy isn't as good as you think and their guy isn't as bad as you think either. Let's get behind ALL of our players and coaches.

Read my post again! I never slammed Orms personally, I said "There is something wrong with his arm, he can't even throw a spiral anymore? His THROWS were pathetic." Watch the game again and if you think those throws are acceptable for a senior college quarterback, so be it. But for me, pathetic was an understatement.
