Thoughts?

Wow! I thought Mac would coach one more year. Nothing but love for what he did for the program. As frustrating as this year has been, there's no denying Coach Mac has been very good for the program. Best of luck in retirement, Coach.

Does Dave Arslanian come knocking at the door? I know he applied for the job when Mac got hired. :wtf:

Mac has been great for Weber State University. I wish him nothing but the best in his retirement. I hope he continues to come around and be a partof the Wildcat community. Although he's been at a few locations, he is a Wildcat for life now. It is impossible to not like Mac. :notworthy: :notworthy:

I BACK MAC!!! It's too bad. He will be missed. But yeah... I would guess maybe Arslanian. :thumb:

Mac will always be THE PLAYERS' COACH. I know that former O Line coach Don Eck has talked with Bovee and was also on the sidelines at the Montana game. I don't know if he is still coaching but he was a very, very effective O line coach in our championship year!

I STILL BACK MAC, love you bro. Thanks for you've done for the Hawaii boys.

Wow, I am very sad. He single handedly brought back Weber football from the depths of the graybeal hole. Mac and Sark are the two greatest coaches in wsu history. He is a legend and will be missed! Love you Mac!

Very true. However, I do know there is a great deal of hatred for Don Eck in the locker room. There are a lot of guys on that team that would refuse to play for him.

Aaron Roderick also comes to mind as a possible candidate. He's a young and ambitious coach who knows the spread offense. He also has a lot of Utah ties and after getting bumped out by Norm Chow, I wouldn't be shocked if he saw this as a golden opportunity for himself.

Did you play when Eck was there? I never had a problem with him and I can't recall any other player that didn't like him.

I suppose I shouldn't use the word "know." It's simply rumor mill.

Funny I just posted that I thought Mac might retire. He needs to think of his health. As for Coach Eck, I played when he was the O-Line coach. He's a great guy and he's a player's coach. I don't think there would be any hatred towards him. I think you're getting confused with the offensive line coach who replaced him in 2009. That guy was a joke and the biggest dickhead in the history of Weber State Football. I disliked him so much I can't even remember his name. He thought he was the MAN because he came from USF. This is really bugging me, someone please remind me of his name? I just called him the cancer, because he may have been the reason we underachieved in '09. I saw him and Higgins go at it on many an occasion.

Understood. I'm the same way. Although I'm pretty sure some already know who I am.

No no no. I didn't play. Sorry about the confusion. I meant I'm pretty sure a few people on here know who I am.

Anyone know why Eck left after only one season at Weber [Fall 2008]?
