I think some of you guys are really reaching for something that isn't there. In the press conference, Coach said "it's my decision, nobody else's decision" to retire. He also talked about how well he has been treated by Jerry Bovee and the University. I'll take Coach at his word and leave it at that. Furthermore, I'll be there Saturday to honor him, celebrate his career, and thank him for what he has given to the football program, the school, and the community.

I just know that my son would not be getting his college degree if it wasn't for Mac, period. I have nothing but love and respect for this man, he will always be The Players' Coach, no matter what anyone says. Over the years I have been blessed to spend some time with him in the off season and away from Utah, he is a class act all the way. Let's give Coach the send off he deserves; he built this program from the ground up and I am honored and privileged to call him my friend.

GOD BLESS AND GOD SPEED COACH MAC

Thats great to hear that your son is getting an opportunity to succeed due to Mac. That is what it is all about. Putting kids in a position to learn, grow, and succeed. What is your sons opinion on everything? I'm sure he will miss Mac.

I am forever grateful for Coach Mac and everything that he did for the program and more specifically the players that he coached. He was more than just a coach, he was a role-model and mentor for everyone who played for him. You could see how genuine he was when he talked about the way he felt about his players. He talked about how great it felt when they succeeded and how hard it was to see them struggle. But there is always one thing that the players could count on and that was Coach Mac sticking by them through thick and thin, believing in them when sometimes they didn't believe in themselves. Thanks for sharing your passion with everyone at Weber State. You have definitely left it in much better condition than what you found it. Thank you for the ride Coach Mac!!!!

And whoever it was that said there was animosity towards Coach Eck from current players you are insane. There is maybe a handful of players still there that played when Eck was still coaching. Stop with the Rumors!! Coach Eck is an amazing Coach and was well-respected when he was there. How can you not like a guy who brought his wife and kids to the pre-game meal every week. Weber State would be lucky to have a guy like Coach Eck return to the program. You might be thinking of Tom Freeman who replaced Coach Eck when he left. But you're dead wrong on your speculation of Coach Eck.

Thank you, I couldn't remember Freeman's name. What a cancer and a dickhead. Coach Eck however is a class act all the way.

Haha. Dickhead isn't a word used often enough on this forum. Brings me back to the days of Bobby Hauck commentary.
