In the press conference, Coach said "it's my decision, nobody else's decision" to retire. He also talked about how well he has been treated by Jerry Bovee and the University. I'll take Coach at his word and leave it at that. Furthermore, I'll be there Saturday to honor him, celebrate his career, and thank him for what he has given to the football program, the school, and the community.
I just know that my son would not be getting his college degree if it wasn't for Mac, period. I have nothing but love and respect for this man, he will always be The Players' Coach, no matter what anyone says. Over the years I have been blessed to spend some time with him in the off season and away from Utah, he is a class act all the way. Let's give Coach the send off he deserves; he built this program from the ground up and I am honored and privileged to call him my friend.
GOD BLESS AND GOD SPEED COACH MAC
Thats great to hear that your son is getting an opportunity to succeed due to Mac. That is what it is all about. Putting kids in a position to learn, grow, and succeed. What is your sons opinion on everything? I'm sure he will miss Mac.
