Maine @ Weber St

Thanks Wildcats for a great year! Would like to see a new offensive scheme and coordinator. It’s pretty lame.

I think EWU or UC Davis has no problem passing on Maine. Maine’s players are too worried about the fans in the stands and make stupid penalties to advance to Finals. Predict either Big Sky team moves on to the Championship game. NDSU looks a big level above everyone, so probably another title for them. I guess we will see.

At least pawildcat can congratulate us. This sounds like sour grapes to me. I have seen U.C. Davis play twice this year, but not EWU. I hate to say this but those refs tonite were some of screwest calls I have seen in a while. Despite the fact we won I hope the NCAA reviews this game.
I can honestly say play some tough defense but I stil feel that BSC is overrated. U.C. Davis is going to be tough and I hope they win because I live in Sacramento, but I think the toughest team in the BSC is EWU
and I don't know a lot about them.

Go Bears....

Refs were awful both ways, but I agree, they may need to review them and not let them ref a playoff game again.

Good on Maine winning tonight. They are a good team! Not sour grapes...just my prediction. Weber State’s lack of offense has been hidden by a great defense. Maine looked vulnerable on the passing game, and EWU and UC Davis are good at that. Maine might put more points on the board against them than they did against Weber State, but the pass defense is vulnerable and Maine’s QB doesn’t strike as great either.

CAA has 6 teams and all lost in first round except one that played another CAA team. I would say CAA is overrated along with unfortunately Weber State. I think they were a top five to ten team, but not the second seed.

Good luck the rest of the way. Odds are likely to will have to see them play on red turf next week. Enjoy that. I am sure you’ll have a blast on the EWU fan forum as well. They will love bantering back and forth with you.

Thanks again to the Wildcat team, but seriously, get a new offensive coordinator.

Between here and the AGS forum, Maine fans are giving themselves a poor reputation.

I never felt this years team stacked up to last year’s, but was optimistic we could make a run with home field advantage. The blown coverage on the long TD put us behind 11 points and we just didn’t have the pass protection to play from behind. Congrats to Maine on a hard fought win.

What is the AGS forum...never mind...I will just stay off of that...Weber State is one very tough team
although some of these calls tonite were some of the strangest calls I have seen in a football game.
Maine's defense just shut down your running game which allowed us to tee off on your QB to an extent...
but Fergie did not have his best game tonite. I wonder if his shoulder is still bothering him.

I never felt like Maine got the respect it deserved in the CAA for its defense...we still don't get the respect we deserve. If Weber State is the beat team in your conference I assume that means EWU is the second best team in your conference...

Good luck to Weber State in the future..

Tough loss for our Cats. Nonetheless, what a fun game to watch, and be at. Glad I was there. Hats off to Maine and their play tonight. Good luck next week.

Maine's run defense and kick coverage were outstanding and won that game. Congrats to them.

This.

It's too bad that the game got a bit whacky in the 2nd half. The refs and length of time it took for reviews really out a damper on a couple of good FCS teams putting on a show....especially on D.

I think that Maine rattled Weber's QB early....a few hard hits by Maine took their toll mentally and physically. I thought that your QB was a bit slight in build and not as quick as he needed to be to avoid Maine's pass rush consistently.

Congrats on a good season. :thumb:

Maine’s front four wreak havoc, Bears smother Weber State in FCS playoff win

It’s 21-0 EWU over Maine, not even 1 quarter complete...wonder where all the Maine fans are now that said it was sour grapes that I said EWU would tear through their poor pass defense. Just gets me more concerned on our offensive play calling. I still think NDSU is a level above, but I wish EWU all the best for the upset.

How in the world did you lose to Maine? The "black hole" defense is more like a gaping hole.

Horrible offensive play calling and awful QB decision-making...and it was still there for the taking at the end. CAA was awful this year. No way they deserved six teams in.

They just ended your season and you are saying how bad they and their conference are???
head scratcher!

Because Weber was over ranked (top 10 team, yes; 2 seed, no) doesn't change the fact the CAA shouldn't have had 6 teams in, 4 losing in the first round. As one dimensional and flat out bad Weber's offense/OC was in that one it's surprising it was there for the taking.

Red turf must be damaging your brain! Good luck vs NDSU.
