McNeese State Secondary

I was reading about McNeese State on their athletic site. Their Defense is supposed to be very good, but reading it over again, it sounds like most of their talent is on the line. The secondary sounds good but if they are not strong at that position they could be the ones in trouble, goes the same for their depth at that position to. I posted at GeauxCowboys.com about this, they all said they will just blitz the hell out of us, well then my memory came up with the Hawaii Bowl back in December, you know what happened to Arizona State when they tried to "blitz the hell out of them" Watch the highlight in this video starting at 2:44 into the video, granted Brian White does not have the release nor the accuracy that Colt Brennan has but that blitz was torched, if Brian can lock down on the WRs he will be keeping McNeese's Defense in check all day, with Bobby at RB in the backfield helping to block Brian can have lots of time even on blitz's. If McNeese can't figure out how get to Brian I think they will be in for a long night. Just my take.

I agree with lyour analysis, except I am not sure Brian will be starting.

You a Howland believer? Tough to say, we will find out soon though. As long as the best player is out there, I'm good.

I'm not really a Howland guy but the position seems to be up in the air and Tyrgue has some assets that can be better used in blitzing situations.

The R&S Offense leaves the QB on an island on most plays, thank god we have Bobby at RB to block. I agree if White does not have the mobility to move then Howland may get the spot, especially if he moves well. Everyone is going to blitz us, known fact. If they don't we will pick the apart the whole game. So whoever sits back there had better have the ability to run away, get the ball off quickly, read the field, and have good accuracy. If we can get that...watch out for the Viks in 07!

Either QB will be fine. I'm more worried about who he'll be throwing to come opening night. We still need some depth at receiver, and Mackins is suspended for McNeese.

That totally slipped my mind. Guess I thought we wouldn't have him in a playoff game last year. Grrr, playoff selections last year. Grrr.
