I am happy for WSU, I am surprised because I thought the president leaving for Logan would slow this down. I didn't understand why Mental was hired in the first place. I don't think he would have been a finalist at any other Big Sky school. I hope the hiring committee opens up the search to include coaches without ties to Weber State so that the best available coach has a chance.

Firing now gives them a headstart on a new hire. Forget anyone from Utah or BYU. The days of an assistant from power conferences dropping down are long gone.
