Montana Part Deux

Speaking of passing, I'm sitting here watching the Apple Cup and trying to figure out how we were able to put up 52 points on Washington and Wazzu has yet to put up a single point well into the 3rd Qtr. Nadda. Zip. Nothing.

I think Montana is going to be wishing for the day that they only gave up 36 to us. With the rest we've had the last 3 weeks I think we'll be back to scoring 50+ :coffee:

I really hope we buck this trend we've had the past few years of coming out totally flat after a bye week. But yeah, big picture the bye is definitely more advantageous in terms of getting guys healthy. I really, really hope Forte and Moore are healthy after not playing for a month. It'd be great to go into this game with 4 or 5 healthy RB's.

Containment containment containment. If we contain JJ from scrambling and slow down the run they can not pass well enough to score enough to beat us. JJ throws quite a few errant balls to open receivers.
There is a reason why the griz have not run much zone read or allowed their quarterback to run much. He is beat up from getting whacked a lot and is prone to injury. He is still hobbled by a high ankle sprain. You are correct, simply keep him in the pocket and he will once again force throws into coverage. If for some reason they try more zone read, then have Tevin McDonald spy him and totally shut him down.

Except JJ has ran more the last 3 games tan ever before this year. We were a pure one back team til after ewu. It will be a differ ent look for ewu. Maybe not different result but diff look

So far this year it hasn't been a problem; we scored 52 on MSU and 56 on PSU after bye weeks. We might as well keep that trend going; gonna hang 50+ on the Griz.

But, if you peek at Ejizz after the game our success will be solely the result of horrible officiating.

He had two long runs against an inept defense last week. He played against probably the slowest FCS team I have ever seen today. Go ahead and run the zone read and he will be on the sidelines injured.

I'd take either one of those scores, but IIRC, we started off pretty flat in both of those games. Against Montana the past two years, we've come out on fire but seemed to fade out a little after getting big leads in both games. I just want to see us dominate for 60 minutes.

Agreed Ranger. And, I second your request for 60 minutes of domination.

Each consecutive Eagle victory brings the UM faithfuls noses down a little more, but a good ole playoff drubbing might be enough to get their heads hanging like they should be :D

Similarly as I was watching the civil war I was thinking how are we going to keep up with the Ducks even without Marriotta. But wait we have a National Championship to focus on first :thumb: . :thumb:

As usual, the offense should get their points. The dilemma is whether our defense will be up to the task of sustaining a lead for the entire game.

after watching what they did the OSU last night I'm hoping we make a showing. The good part about playing these type of games is nobody expects us to anyway.

I am not worried about JJ. I think that you better be worried about Adams. I see him running for his life the whole game and getting hammered. In the last 10 quarters of football Montana has out scored their opponent 107 to 24

You've played an offense missing its two best players, and a Pioneer League team.

I agree that VA may be running a lot more...he's not coming off a month of not playing like he was in the first contest. So you probably got that part right.

Montana has won four games against DI opponents with a winninng record in the last three years. Two of those wins have come in the past two weeks against an MSU team missing their best two offensive players and a non-scholarship FCS team. Not sure I'd really be puffing my chest up about that if I were you. :coffee:

Put down the meth pipe Ranger. "Montana has won 4 games against D1 opponents in the last 3 years". We had 9 wins over D1 opponents last season alone (unless the BSC is no longer considered to be D1). How in the hell did we make the playoffs the this year and last with only 3 D1 wins (considering our 4th win in 3 years, according to you, came in a playoff game against non-scholarship USD)? :silly:

First off, you can leave the meth references back on Egriz where they belong along with your "Montana Meth Project" advertisement that Root Sports plays 3 times a commercial break anytime the Griz are on TV. The irony here being that you might be one of the many who is too stupid to realize that Missoula County, Montana has one of the largest meth problems in the entire region...but you want to talk smack to us about some mythical meth problem? Either way, you may want to find something else, like the usual things...our stadium or flat-billed hats, because this one isn't working and just makes you look extremely dUMb.

Secondly, you are correct. I meant to type 3 opponents with a winning record (MSU x 2, Sac St., and San Diego)...4 games total. Two of those 4 wins came in the last two weeks. So, going into Cat/Griz, Montana had 2 total wins against DI programs with an above .500 record in the past three years.
