Montana Part Deux

So just how stupid are you going to look when Montana wins? I guess that will be 1 more pathetic win against a sub par opponent?

Nice one, ultramoron. :thumb: :dunce: You truly earn your name!

Could this be the biggest game in the rivalry? I am surprised the trolling hasn't gotten worse. This is pretty tame so far.

Are you going to come back and eat your crow, when your team loses? Or are you going to tuck tail and hide behind your anonymous username.

Mr. Moron will most certainly not be back to eat his crow when the Eags end the Grizzlies season on Saturay. He'll tuck his tail and head back to egriz to have his ego boosted by other trolling dip sh*ts that get off on making things up about the best team in the Big Sky (EWU). As you know, facts are very limited with fans like Mr. Moron.

Oh I will be back. You didn't answer the question. Afraid you will be the one tucking your tail and hiding?

not me. If Montana wins it will be because you played a better game than us. No shame in that. We dont blame losses on refs, etc.

Don't have to go to far to see Griz fans already whining about imagined officiating shortfalls. On top of that, some think their offense is on par with the Eag's. If 50th is the same as 3rd, then they are on to something.

Time for the Griz to hibernate for the winter.

You won't hear any excuses from me. Just a Griz fan that has confidence in the way we have been playing since they turned JJ loose and let him go back to the spread option. The whole team seems to be feeding off it and it is a hell of a lot more fun to watch than the pro set offense.

There will be a lot of points scored in this game. Montana will get their fair share, I think. That said, we've played in a few shootouts this year and the only one that we lost was against UW.

Turn him loose, is this a joke. JJ is brittle. He has got the crap knocked out of him the last two years and all Montana fans want is for him to run the ball more and get pounded.

Dude you guys had an officiating thread before the game was even announced. You guys always talk about officials. You guys got some calls the first game we played. Both teams got away with holding galore. Our tackles held a ton and wags was held a ton. This game is neutral officials and both teams are playing great football. Why can't we let that be the story. Griz fans are tired of losing to ewu. Ewu is afraid of losing at home to Montana. Both are rational because we're rivals. I have seen ewu fans saying Montana's run was weak and nobody good played in the fcs then. We all know that's not true. Ewu has won 3 straight meetings you cant deny that. We were beaten by a better team all of those times. The best team will win on sat. Not because of tradition, not because of officiating, not because your field is red and 12k people show up. Those things are side stories for fans. Why cant we discuss the game without any bias. Seriously the griz fans here and ewu fans on egriz are just manking this game annoying.

The reason he has been rocked hard the last two years is because he was running a pro-set offense that he wasn't recruited for. He came to Montana to run the spread, and Jordan Johnson has always been a spread/scramble quarterback that makes plays with his legs, much like Vernon Adams. When we've seen the coaching staff allow JJ to run the spread in mostly panic mode times, the offense has functioned very efficiently. That's what Ultramaroon is saying by "turning JJ loose."

You see, there is a difference between an offense running efficiently and a quarterback being protected. Check out the stats, Jordan has taken very few sacks in the pro style offense. Yet, he has been hurt many times. In the spread option he is far more exposed to be hit and based on his injuries from not being hit often, he will be injured by getting hit often.

VA runs the same style, but he has proven that he is durable and can take the hits. Yet, even he suffered an injury that put him out for a few weeks.

I guess that's the risk you take. When Johnson is running the spread option, the offense clicks. That's why most people want JJ to be turned loose. Run a pro set with little results and risk injury or run the spread offense with big results and risk injury.

Boom - first rational post made by a Montana fan on this site in a very long time. Thank you for your objectivity and I agree with your post.

It is all about the game. Do fan sites have an impact with what happens on the field? All the rationality on the planet isn't going to matter when the whistle blows. Eags rock Griz.

Ranger is getting a new name: Teaspoon - because he is so measured.
