Montana State

Great crowd last night!! The elementary kids really brought a lot of energy to the Dee last night.

Yet, a HUGE disappointment, STILL, is our student section!!

I'm calling out SAA and WSUSA! They are both an absolute joke. I think it is time to start emailing advisers on campus asking why student leaders receiving scholarships aren't doing their jobs.

The only student marketing is done by Athletics. They put up ridiculous signs, and that is the only thing on campus notifying students of games. Yet, at least they are doing things. I know for a fact that athletics has tried to get SAA and WSUSA to do more, but aren't getting any assistance. Sad... I feel badly. Our committed alumni are getting older and the younger generations aren't as committed. Anyone who graduated in the last 10 years are rarely Weber State fans. Alumni's numbers are going to drop and so are campus donations, endowments, and support because our alumni just don't give a damn. This is one way to create lasting alumni and fans. Through sporting events. Basketball has been good for at least 8 years and really only 1 year under Cravens was the team awful. There is NO EXCUSE. Let's call it what it is PURE AND SIMPLE LAZINESS! Give me 10 students $150 to advertise on campus, and I will recreate a student section.

Agreed on both counts. It's sad when a bunch of little kids from the Ogden school district are organizing larger "Weber State" chants than our dismal student section.

Highlight of the game (besides the Hajek sighting) was the Joel 3 Ball, he didnt even hesitate throwing that ball up and he swished it. Awesome
Yeah, when Joel popped that 3, I almost jumped out of my skin.

At one point the elementary schools chant overtook the student section. I say put the elementary kids in the student section. and move the 30 students up top. We better leave Madawg and his jersey wearing buddy down there or they might cry.

I hope we can see more school kids like that. It was great!

Wait so i have a question. if wsusa and other school groups are supposed to help promote activities aka sports, parties, etc, and they are not, what do they really do? are they basically getting a scholarship for free? Im sure they have some community work to do but besides that there isnt anything going on..

The heavy home game Sky schedule seems to be just what the doctor ordered for this team (UNC has also started with 6 of 8 at home).

Yes, and if I'm not mistaken, UNC has a tough 4 road games in something like 8 days coming up. :tounge:

Loved the huge crowd of elementary school kids in the upper deck. Hopefully they are on their way to becoming Weber fans for life.

Big :thumb: :thumb: to the Ogden School District kids at the game. Their chanting overtaking the student section was priceless :notworthy: -- sad, but priceless. Finally, a noticeably smart move by those who should be promoting WSU. That is a win-win for the kids who might not have much opportunity for a fun evening like that and for the school being more engrained in the community and potentially creating new fans and future students.
