Montana @ SUU

Stevenette 3 no good, Weisner rebounds and is fouled. Starting to look like we should plan our trip to Missoula...they won't lose twice at home.

Lucky for UM that the rest of this conference is so bad that they cant beat a depleted team.

SUU had a shot and blew it, but if it wasnt for the free throw discrepancy I think Um would have been going home with a loss, SUU outplayed the Griz in the 2nd half, but with Jamar shooting freethrows all the time it didnt matter.

I have no problem playing the tourney in Missoula, Weber can win there, but I dont want to see Jamar and Cherry at the freethow line a combined 40 times.

34 freebies to 17, wow.

We shouldnt have to count on others to do our work for us.

Time to get ready, these Home games arent really that big anymore, (they better still win), the tourney will be in Missoula, and Weber better be prepared for a fight.

But when you watch the game it makes sense. We drove to the hole a lot, and they were content to mostly shoot 3s or fadeaway jumpers. You aren't going to get as many free throws that way. Also a ton of those came in overtime when they were just fouling in desperation, so it's not as bad as it looks. :thumb:

agreed with WILDCAT, can't call suu or msu stupid for losing. but dang...u had to go undefeated to win an outright title in 2013, yikes.

since some of the sky teams r so bad this yr, it doesnt even matter when the griz lose its top 2 players. its still a great season even if us and griz both win out. just too bad if we win 32 out of 36 games in 2 seasons. thats crazy, most yrs that would guarantee you 2 outright titles. but i would still have it this way than no montana at all and have no challenge.

i am very glad griz didnt end up leaving the big sky.

Very true, but when SUU did drive, the same calls that UM was getting, SUU wasnt. There was a lot of mugging going on underneath the basket that wasnt being called.

Still trying to figure out how UM got away with goaltending, it was so very obvious.

Anyway, congrats on the win, UM's players play with a lot of heart. Hoping for a rematch in Missoula.

Whew!!

Griz escape with a little luck. But over a 20 game season, you need some of that. Didn't play their best, but gutted it out.

But Wildcat, gimme a break. You're calling SUU depleted??!?!?!? That would be laughable if it wasn't so ridiculous.

And the Griz shot more FTs because they shot 10 with under 1:00 left. Otherwise, the FT numbers were FAR closer than most SUU games, who always shoot fewer FTs because of the style they play. And FWIW, after DL, no Weber fan should EVER complain about a star player getting star treatment.

So, whose coming to Missoula???

SUU wins that one with neutral refs. A lot of cheap fouls on the perimeter called on SUU. However that SUU loss is good news for Sac, also the extra wear and tear on UM in the extra 5 minutes of play is good too. If the Hornets show up and pound the paint with Veteto, Dickson, and Salley (had a breakout game against ISU) I think the Hornets will be able to make it an interesting game (provided the refs that were in Cedar City aren't in Missoula on Thursday).

I just find that amusing, because all year we've been told we'd lose this game because of biased refs.

Eric Curry was one of the refs need i say more? Supposedly those were three of the best refs in the Sky. Totally blew the goal tending and 34-17?!? Really?

That missed goaltending call was the icing on the cake. No way any argument can be made about the refs not having an impact on this game after that call. :coffee:

No no no, Im calling UM depleted, which they are. Kudos to Jamar for stepping it up.

I understand that SUU fouled at the end, but it was blatanly obvious that Jamar was getting a little love tonight. He almost had as many freethrows as the entire SUU team. And the goaltending :wtf: extremely blatant and at a very crucial time in the game.

Would love to come to Missoula, but unfortunately for me I have a serious lack of fundage, I'll be watching the tourney from my computer/TV here in Utah.

Once again congrats on the win, hoping for a rematch
