Montana @ SUU

Oh, sorry Wildcat. I misunderstood.

Officiating was what it always is: BSC offiiciating. It was terrible. It was consistently terrible for both teams. I could easily point to 4 straight obvious over the backs that weren't called that gave SUU second chance points. It happens in every game with BSC refs.

But, I will agree that the Griz got outta there by a hair, and a little luck.

i was hoping for a little help for once to get us that banner! i guess its still not over. just would be cool to have it happen to us like we did for the griz in 2008 in football. we were 7-0 n lost our last game, at home, on the final play. missoula was celebratin. so maybe nau or sac can pull off the upset for us.

Oh man! After the Griz won the day, most of us in WaGriz hung around and were watching the end of that game on the big screen. Trevyn Smith was just chewing up yardage on every play, heading in for the inevitable TD and then somehow coughed it up at like the 15 yard line and Ewoo hung on. That was a good day! 8-)

That was a DAMN good Weber team.

trust me i remember that very well...

our olineman bumped into him and knocked the ball out of his hand or he would have ran in for the score. it was such a crazy fluke because u could count smith's career fumbles on one hand. which aint bad for a guy with 5,000+ yds rushing. so here's to jamar travleing with 11 seconds left against sac with the scored tied.

yup, Big Sky refs always suck so I don't usually put the blame game of the officiating no matter what the outcome. I was in and out of watching this one and I couldn't believe how different the game was being called on each side of the court. Also the stream didn't have too may replays to watch so kind of hard to be sure, but didn't seem like they were calling this one consistent at all. It was even off for for Big Sky officiating. But then again I didn't sit though the whole game but from what I saw.... yikes!!!

Anybody else notice that if anyone other than Jamar for Montana drove to the basket the end result was either a missed layup or a made layup? But when Jamar drove to the basket it was either a made layup or a trip to the freethrow line?

It's amazing to think that not calling the goaltending ultimately decided the location of the BSC tournament

I am down I wanted to go to the tourny so bad. I do think we have a chance of winning in Montana but it won't be easy.

Before the game started...the announcers said that Ward was out for the season and that Cherry would be back on Thursday. Everett or any of the other Grizers who stop by, is this true? Last week Cherry couldn't even put weight on his injury now he can play? Great for him, if it is true. Bummer deal for Ward though.

If Cherry does indeed come back, Montana would be wise to save him for the tournament.

Im pretty sure the announcer got that backwards since Ward was at the game AND participated in shoot around. word from Missoula is that Ward will be available for senior night. Cherry, not so much.

I think it was a partial truth.

It does indeed sound as though Ward is done for the year, unfortunately. According to the Missoulian, Will might be back by the BSC tournament. I seriously doubt he'll play this weekend.

So...no one really knows. Ward and Cherry according to different sources could or couldn't be back. Hahahaha

Wildcats should just plan for the worst-case scenario that both Ward and Cherry will play come Big Sky tourney time.

PROGNOSIS NEGATIVE!!!!!
they will both be back at 100% on thurs.

they said originally that ward would be out 2-4 weeks. its now been 2+ weeks? cherry they said might be out for the yr but may be back. its been a week since he started to walk i think.

we have no clue and they arent gonna let anyone know, would our staff keep the sky updated? no way.

Not the case. The Missoulian stated that Ward has ligament damage and is probably done, and Tinks more or less said the same thing on the post-game show last night. Cherry is still more or less day to day, but you can expect them to be very conservative with bringing him back too soon.

Barring a miracle, Ward is done; Will will be back for the tournament.

Cherry's injury...correct me if I'm wrong...was similar to Lillard's and Gelaun's injury. Did Cherry end up having surgery or was he only put in a cast? If so, and he heard the same thing as what happened previously, my guess would be that Cherry is done too. If he plays on it and the bone is deteriorating or in a fragile state, he might have a half or a full game before the bone fails. If he has pro aspirations, if I were him, I'd leave Missoula and have a doctor outside look at my foot.

I doubt Cherry will play until the conference tournament, meaning he will have rested the foot for almost 3 weeks. And the X-rays were negative, so I fully expect Cherry to play again.
