This may be the biggest road trip in UNC D1 basketball history. Yes, I know it is not a long history. In my opinion if UNC can somehow find a way to sweep this trip they can pretty much for all extensive purposes wrap up the BSC, banking that we will not lose at home( Even though NAU has looked really good). These two games pretty much should decide if Greeley will be the host for the tournament. My one fear is that this team overlooks Montana St. State has not been playing good basketball at all and has dropped in the standings. I'm hoping with a senior filled roster we can use that maturity to focus on the game at hand and not on the griz. GO BEARS!!!

Agree 100%.

From the Montana web site:

CHERRY INJURED: Cherry was forced to leave the Weber State game due to an injury and did not play at NAU last Saturday. His playing status this week was unknown at press time.

This to me is the key to the entire Big Sky season. If Cherry can come back healthy then the race is on, if not, it really is ours to lose.

Thats a huge game on saturday, I might have to watch it on BSTV, since Weber dont play on Sat.

Good luck on your Montana road trip.

Me to, but they have to set the tone of the game in the first few minutes. They must play with authority and confidence. They can't be scared or intimadated. The Montana fans will be relentless but I believe we will be okay and take the crowd out of the game or will be trouble

This is where the games at Arizona and Illionis will pay off big time. Sorry Montana, but Dahlberg Arena's got nothing on the McKale Center or Assembly Hall.

Not sure about that. We played Illinois when the kids were on break and it's not like the Arizona fans were fired up to place us. My bet is that the atmosphere at a fired up Big Sky arena is probably harder than an uninterested Big-10 school.

I am kind of nervous for that Montana State game as well. It's just tough because everyone and their mother knows what's riding on Saturday's game in Missoula. I know this UNC team is fortunate with having a bunch of experience, but I don't care how long you've been in the program, it's hard not to look ahead to what's coming up against the Grizzlies. And while Montana State has come back down to earth these past three weeks, they are still no pushover, especially in their house. After dropping 5 straight, they are looking for a big win to get things back on track for them. But as Beardevil said, this is probably the program's biggest weekend in school history, how can you not be excited?

The Montana game is the only game that matters this weekend. To host the tournament the Bears MUST
win. If they don't host, I think that their chances of winning the tournament are much tougher. Home court is huge. Even if they stumble vs. MSU, a win on Saturday night gives them at worst a one game lead with three to play plus the tiebreaker if they end up tied with the Griz. After a win on Saturday, UNC only would need to win 2 of 3 from Idaho State, Sac State, and Northern Arizona. I'd take my chances with that scenario. GO BEARS!!!

Tonight's Big Sky games:

Sacramento State @ Montana - 7:00pm
Northern Colorado @ Montana State - 7:05
Northern Arizona @ Weber State - 7:05
Idaho State @ Portland State - 7:05

Can Sacramento State pull off the upset with a Cherry-less Montana? This was from Egrizz: Heard Will is doing everything he can to get back and is DETERMINED to play against UNC on Saturday for a chance to host the conference tourney. Sounds like this kid will not be denied and is ultra committed to this team.

The stakes are big this weekend.

The NAU-WSU game should be good as both teams are 6-4 in conference and seem to be playing well.

Exciting weekend and it starts tonight!! I'm sure our Bears know whats at stake!! Can't wait for tonights tipoff. Lets go Bears. Kick some Montana ass!!

I am more fired up for this one than I thought I would be. Going to be a late night.

Come on you Bears!!!

This is the first radio guy from another Big Sky team that I actually like.

Totally agree. Still can't get those NAU guys out of my head.

Funny, those are the same guys I was thinking about when I posted that.
