Stitt's boys are coming to G-town on Saturday. I would love to see the upset. They have a very good offense, but I think their defense is suspect, just look at their game against ISU. If Riek plays I say we have a fighting chance, and our offense can come alive. Sad to say we have to depend on one player like that.

@Beardown, the same folks who are saying how happy they are the Bears won are the same folks who complain as well. It is a shame to not have people as vocal after a win, but that is human nature. It is easier to complain than to write something positive. Having said that, this Montana team is not the same as the one that has been destroying teams over the past few weeks. And, this is where the Bears seem to fall down. Mustari writes in his column about what a great play call Boyer had in the TD pass to Verna. Yes, that was a good call. It doesn't make up for all the crappy calls throughout the game. Once again, we barely hang on to a win when, if we had not taken our foot off the gas to begin with after the first few plays offensively, we might have had a much larger lead. It seems as though there is this belief of "get ahead and coast". It worked (barely) against a team imploding with their backup QB, etc. But, it doesn't work with teams that actually have watched our film, because he does the same retreat and defend a lead every week they go ahead. Then, play catch up to try to win or hang on with our fingernails in the hopes our tired out defense will be able to pull off one more stop after creating opportunities for the offense the entire game. Boyer needs to go. He does not appear to understand we need to crush opponents if we ever want to have National votes. This weekly clinging on for dear life will not ever create an atmosphere in which our opponents fear playing us. Nor will it allow for the confidence of a team worthy of national votes. (we are talented enough to do both, at this very minute). He is a disservice to this athletic program. 6-4 with either a 7-4 or 6-5 outcome (the same as last year when everyone was calling for Collins' head) is not great progress. Losing to UC Davis, EWU and ND when all three were very winnable games is unacceptable. I don't change my opinion just because the team pulled off an historic win. We should have, given their level of play, had many more points on the board. 6 completed passes with only 12 attempts- most overthrown, under-thrown, blocked, or just bad calls altogether. And, another RB down. I am not being negative. This is what we did in this game. I don't know how Boyer thinks this was a "win" other than we have a W. We, by all standards, should have and very easily could have lost that game. Play to win, resoundingly. These players deserve that. They play with their hearts and it shows every week. Boyer, on the other hand, many times plays with his tail between his legs hoping we can just get out of the game with a W or not too bad of a loss.
Oh, BTW, I do think it was great to see the team win, especially for the Seniors, who will forever have that memory. What a great last home game for the boys to have....beating a team that has eluded them for many moons. And, yes, an ugly win is still a win. Now, how many "buts" are in this email and how much conviction do I lack for the team? lol. Go Bears!

Great Win, though I agree with much of what bearfan2015 says.
That said...
The "D" played another great game. The "O" finally started to own the LOS late in the game, by committing to the run. The Verna TD reception was a result of good play calling (i.e. establishing the run). We must let our OL take over by letting them run block, and Boyer finally did that late in the game. Lets hope that he doesn't abandon the run at SLO. Just a hunch, Coach Jones told Boyer at halftime to start running so that his "D" wouldn't run out of gas late in the game. Just a hunch.
