NAU - Homecoming

OK I'll eat some crow! The D won this one for sure, it's amazing what happens went you make a few plays on D and generate some turn overs. :notworthy:

I was seconds away from bailing on the game in the first quarter when none of the media worked and we went down 7-0. Glad I stuck with it since I would have missed some really entertaining plays.

I'm not hoping this but Cartwright better have been injured.

Disgusting if the coaching staff was stubborn and stuck with Poe through a horrid second half instead of going with a quarterback who had the best game of his career last week.

If UNC's defense keeps this up, they have a few more wins in them this season.

Good luck, Bears faithful.

FYI, apparently the problems with the broadcast were because of the schools network (which was working fine for the 90 minutes prior to the start of the game).

Yeah, because Blofeld had no prior history to lean upon when making a prediction that they would lose? Hell, the fact that any of us are still around during football season is a miracle.

I ate my crow! I love this guy's spirit I wish more people had it when we've won 1 or 2 games at best the last decade... yeah, a real idiot predicts UNC to lose... ha ha...

I'm a negative "piece of shit" but I don't suit up so what do you call losing 10+ games a year that's pretty negative.

Great win Bears, not a great offensive showing. Yes the defense gave up some yards but hung in there to get the turnovers and win the game with them. Still have to give credit to Newsome for stepping up and looking like a real QB out there. He needs a little work with his ball handling skills as he gives the play away pretty easy but he throws a pretty good pass. Our offense is still pretty predictable if you ask me. Ok so the question is: has Kerr made a difference with the defense ? And if he has, what does it say about the offensive side of the ball ? Is it coaching ? Just asking !

I think so. Seems like the defense is more open to making plays. I noticed again though how bad our LB's are, besides Seirrra. We are really missing Lei at middle lb. Once the running back gets past the line, they have a difficult time stopping them.

It was an ugly win offensively, but a win is a WIN. Defensively the secondary is playing lights out. Not only the INTs, but they are delivering some big hits. It was nice to see #91 back in the mix on the D-line. We need the pressure on the QB that he brings to the mix. Our defense seemed to have the "bend but don't break" attitude that the rest of the team rallied behind. Hopefully our offense can come together this week and put some more points on the board. They are young and should improve over time. I'm looking forward to Saturday against Sac State. I think the Bears improve to 3-3 this weekend. Go Bears!

I have actually thought the linebackers are playing pretty well. Maybe not outstanding, but solid. Walker and Gackle are the teams leading tacklers. I've been least impressed with the DE's so far. Tend to crash down or go too far up field and lose containment far more than I would like to see. Teams are breaking a lot of big runs to the outside and it's not always on a designed play. Often seems to happen when they can't find a hole on the inside and bounce outside to a wide open field because the DE didn't contain. Hopefully Chapple can regain his form soon. I focused on him for a few plays in this game and he just doesn't appear to have any explosiveness or quickness back yet. I thought he was pretty ineffective unless the play came right to him.
