NAU

I've learned a few things as a Lumberjacks fan over the years:

1.) don't ever get overconfident as a fan
2.) a great showing one week against a good team can quickly turn into a steaming turd the following week against a team that's on the down and outs
3.) there's no such thing as a given
4.) a great Lumberjacks offense does not always trump a decimated Lumberjacks defense

I like the tenacity I see in this year's team, though. They could have rolled over many times vs. U of Arizona and U of Montana but didn't. But being down 6-7 starters on defense definitely hurts.

I have two friends who are Northern Colorado alumni. Good people. I'll wish the Bears well strictly based on them.

I'm taking a conservative approach and say: 31-17, NAU wins.

The sad thing is it seems like this team is packing it in early this year after last week... Did they beat San Diego and think we won our one game for the year now we can relax?

Anyway, the onus is on them to prove something and put up a fight. Historically they seem to play not any worse on the road as they do at home and last year they could have beat NAU except numbnuts ran that stupid fake extra point twice...

NAU 31- UNC 7
Time to roll it up, and pack it in for the season. Let's just hope that Downing gets another extension!!

C'mon uncfootballrules, I don't know about that extra 3 you tacked on.
That would mean that Darnell, and crew, would have to drive far enough to get within field goal range. Or, were you predicting a touchdown, a missed extra point, and two safeties? :)

Actually I was thinking a defensive fumble recovery on NAU's 15, three of the best ideas from Darnell and Downing and then having to kick a field goal from the 25. I like yours bettter though!

Your scenario would involve Downing and Darnell actually formulating three ideas. Mine is based on dumb luck. Wait, you're right, I could be onto something!

nice half bears, nice to see the offense open it up some - keeping nau off balance! Aggressiveness pays off. Keep the pedal to the floor in the 2nd half BEARS!

The D allowed too many big plays today. Penalties killed us as well. Offense looked better I'll give them that. How come Harris wasn't playing? Tough to swallow when you can't hold a 21-7 lead.

Yeah but when you settle for field goals when you get turn overs handed to you on a silver platter you will lose. Also, we could have had 10 downs from the 2 and we wouldn't have scored and made a 2 point conversion the play execution wasn't there and even the body language could tell you we knew we would lose.

Beyond that I'm not sure why NAU is celebrating like they just won the Super Bowl, that's worse then the time I stole some candy from a babay and then did the Icky Shuffle.
