I just saw a pic of the new helmets. Sick! Dope! and all those other words the yung'uns use...

Flat black with red facemasks. The logo is the EWU Eagle in red with the letters in white. Pretty cool, but I've always been a sucker for the flat black...

Im with you there... I really liked the metallic red look of the old ones. Maybe a similar metalic black might work? But they might look just fine on TV (except extreme close ups) or from the stands.
 
I agree, the gloss logo clashes like crazy. Also for some reason I pictured a darker shade of red for the facemask, but oh well. Order new logos done in matte to match, and it'll look awesome. Check out Baylor's helmets to get an idea.

Yeah, that looks a lot better. I would've gone with a darker black too, and like you said, a deeper red.
 
I think if they got a more subdued logo and a slightly less glossy face mask it would look good. I do like the flat black, just the other stuff not so much.

Eeck. I agree. And the red facemask is horrible. Why not just go all black? That doesn't even look like the right red.

I always wanted us to have white helmets, with white facemask and just a black eagle. I thought that would look cool with the road whites.
 
I like the black...its a nice change, but that glossy logo looks terrible. Plus the bright red face mask doesn't work for me. I think the black helmet could work, just not with that glossy logo...
 
Will they be going with the red pumps or the 6" patten leather heels? Just put one on and go hit someone, lets just play ball. The next thing you know someone will try to put feathers on their uniforms, how sad would that be?

Oregon has feathers on the shoulders. I believe they get new unis new design for every game, but they have Phil Knight as a booster as well.

I tend to agree with you on this. For better or worse, uniform design (helmets too) is and the overall "look" is something that's very important to many players in today's game (as well as recruits).
 
This needs to be fixed. I like the flat black, but "no" to the shiny decal. Please remove the glossy face mask and or at least take the shine off of that too. Do it right the first time they roll out . . . Powers that be, "Are you reading?"

I am so proud of EWU football right now that I am fixated on looking up information all the time. I remember the days were we were always defending EWU and its programs to others such as the mighty Griz. 2010 changed all of this -- from the red carpet (done right) to the Championship. These helmets look half-ass cool. Fix them!
