Leadership starts at the top
Not to be self righteous.....I am reluctant to talk down players (please don't take offense),
It Is the coaches responsibility to put the players in positions to be successful. When they fail, players fail, teams fail, and ultimately programs fail.
Again, no offense(literally and figuratively), just a different perspective.

You're right mountainbear, it's not Seth it's about idiot 1 and idiot 2. I wonder if Armour is just     right now at Boyer and Collins. It couldnt have been easy to be demoted and replaced by a guy who probably still lives with his mother. So hopefully now he's past it and can laugh about it.

At some point you're going to have to stop blaming the coaches and actually place some blame on the players. I'm pretty sure Collins, Armour or Boyer is not telling Labota, "Hey Seth, can you over-throw Gunn on that 10 yard crossing rout?" or "Hey Seth, can you hold on to the ball a really long time?" or "Seth, don't throw it out of bounds, please just throw it down the middle of the field, even if someone isn't open."
I don't like the assistant coaches either. Collins needs money and time to bring in better players and coaches. That much is evident. However, let's not forget who is actually playing on the field. The players are NOT executing the plays.

Coaches coach, players play......yes I get it
I also get that players don't have to like a coach to perform.......I am a big fan of respecting coaches
We saw what coach Downing brought, and I firmly believe that the difference between this staff and the last is that players respected what Downing was doing.
The results are the same, it is ironic that the staff the players trusted its out, and this staff actually had the gaul to ask" can I trust you?".........
You are right, coaches coach and players play.
As I have stayed before, I have to believe that the players are one hundred percent bought into wanting to win........they are too proud, and have been successful in the past...coaches are too selfish to plan poorly......they plan to the best of their ability given the players they
Have. We can't compare coaches, staffs, or players. Assessment had to be formative (are players developing?) As well as summative (wins and losses).
There is no blame to be cast, only responsibility accepted.

What makes you think they hate Collins and don't respect him? Just a question.

How far is respecting the coaches going to take you? 9-100 Which was Downing career record. If the players respected what Downing was doing then why were there 5 shitty seasons? Wouldn't they have played harder to get some more wins? Respect gets you 9-100? Yeah I agree there should be a level of respect between coaching and players. But there's a lot more factors when comes to building a winning program. I don't if they players respect this staff or not, and I'm sure there are some on the roster that don't.

The most frustrating thing is that we are seeing the same shit we saw with the previous staff.

Believe me, I'm not a fan of the results of the previous staff.
I agree with your post........I guess I'm just wondering where we are headed for the next decade.
My interest is long term, and I don't see improvement.......
Where are we headed? How do things change?

If Lobato executed his throws we would be sitting at an even record. The MSU game certainly wasn't his fault. We were outmatched in every sort of way. The Sac State game was his fault though.

Again, I don't want to downplay a players effort.
If a change is needed, the change must be noted and acted upon by the More expected adults (staff).
Again, I'm not blaming, but who I'd responsible for the program?
This is a great discussion point.
