This has really been a piss poor discussion of the game. I am disappointed in both sides.

I would like to know more about EWU beside your stud RB. Jones just made All-American and so did your MLB Sherritt, kudos for them. They are obviously very, very good. I know you also had a butt load of all conference selections, many more than the Boobcats.

But what else? How big is your OL and DL? Who are the stalwarts there? Is the run defense really that good or is it a pass happy BSC? Your pass defense is not impressive but is it because the run defense is? I see some dissatisfaction in your QB situation, but his numbers appear solid.

As for the Bison, the defense is the heart and soul of the team. Some of the numbers may not impress you but one should, and that is their scoring defense. Gratzek is a beast and will give your OL fits. Boyer is a very good RDE. The rest of the DL is okay and can come up with plays from time to time. The LB and DB are all solid, nobody is flashy, but solid. Evans at MLB is out of position in my opinion, he would make a much better OLB. Heagle at FS may be a true freshman but when he gets a chance to hit you I can guarantee he will empty the sinus passages of snot.

The offense has struggled except in the second half of each playoff game. The QBs have been a revolving door, largely due to continued injuries. Jensen is the best QB we have but not a very good passer (<50% completion rate) and not very durable, but he does have a presence in the pocket and since he is a RFr I believe he will get much better in the future. You have already heard about DJ. Obviously not as good as Jones but a dynamo in the open field. The OL has some solid players, led by Cornick at RG and Richard at LG, but the RT and C are true freshman. I think they are just starting to mesh. The WRs suck except for Holloway (#81) and we have one good blocking TE and a pussy TE who everyone had high expectations for but has developed himself into a non-factor.

Our special teams are pretty good on coverage, much better than in past years. Our punter should be all american, our place kicker varies from a scatter gun to rock solid, you never know which one will show up (he missed a chip shot at MSU). Our kick returns are only average.

Our coaching staff is pretty good, they seem to do well making adjustments at halftime.

So, there you have it, one man's honest opinion of the Bison. I would like to hear something other than bullshit about the Eagles.

Hahaha! Yeah, we're just having a little fun. Still be more than happy to drink some beer with some bison fans before the game.

Anways, I'm only the runner up in my mom's eyes. :?

The BSC has 4 teams in the top 40 in rushing and SEMO was #4 so I think our run stopping is legit. It's anchored by 300lb Renard Williams who also had enough speed to chase SEMO's option QB down the line of scrimmage and catch him. Our other starter Tyler Jolly is doubtful for the game and he will be missed, but we've been platooning the DL for the past two season and have quite a bit of depth.

The pass defense is our biggest weakness, but like you guys, has created a ton of turnovers and quite a few in the redzone. The corners are the weak spots and even SEMO was able to hurt us on a couple of plays last week and could have hurt us on a few more if they had a QB who could throw. That being said, safety Matt Johnson is an absolute stud and maybe as good a player and as much a ball hawk as Sherritt.

As for the offense, we are very balanced and seem to be at our best when we stretch the D early with some deep balls and when we pick up the tempo. Our hurry up has been terrific all season.

Special teams has been solid in general with several blocked punts and kickoff returns for scores, but kicking is a ?

I'll leave the o line comments for front54life.

And to think the senseless dribble of Lakes Bison has only made a minor appearance. If the 12 eagles board members are already frazzled, what are they going to think when Lakes begins to bring it.

Again with the call outs?? What is it with you Bison fans? You just can't find anything to do but troll? Pretty sure most of us have seen Lakes on the FCS board and ignored him like everyone else does ... just like we do dub-fancy aka djollieballs over on eGrizz. When you're ridiculous and ignorant it doesn't "frazzle" us - it's amusing and kind of sad in a geek sitting behind the computer keyboard sort of way.

Kind of interesting that you comment on bisonville persons sitting behind the computer, but yet you know that of Lakesbison from a chat board for a team we haven't played in years. So I guess that calling a spade a spade.

Kind of interesting that BV has several comments ridiculing our site because there's so few posters and it's not as active as BV yet when someone else seems to know what's going on after reading their site for a couple of weeks and seeing the nature of the posts they put on the MSU and EAG site, they try to turn it around. Make up your mind - either we don't care enough or we don't have anything better to do, or maybe we're all just fans too. What a concept!

If EWU fans seem a little shaky on our qb that is partially a product of the fact that 2 of the top 3 or 4 qb's we have had in our history were starters for the last 7.5 years (including Payton Award winner Eric Meyer) and the fact that BLM seems to throw it to the wrong team a little too often. That being said BLM is a completely different qb now then he was at the beginning of the season.

I have seen comments on the NDSU board talking about how we needed 6 turnovers to beat UM, how we got beat soundly by MSU, and how that is evidence that we are overrated. But, what Bison fans must realize is that we started down 17 to UM in the first 5 minutes because of turnovers and that we played MSU the week after one of the most emotional victories in EWU history. We were flat and injured against MSU, probably over confident because of our long winning streak against MSU, and played by far our worst game of the year in Bozman.

If we play well, what NDSU can expect is an extremely talented team that has tremendous team speed. The defense gives up their yards in between the 20's, but locks down in the redzone. Our front 7 is anchored by our two big DT's and our outstanding MLB, and we do a great job of stopping the run and creating turnovers. The offense can be quick strike through either the air or on the ground. The O also has the ability to put together long sustained drives mixing in the run and the pass. If BLM plays well, we will score points on any FCS defense in the country. If we avoid turnovers and penalties, EWU is going to be very difficult to beat.

No, the point was made how NDSU fans spend all the time on bisonville or wherever, but when a passionate bison booster is mentioned, you had done your due diligence and knew of the legend from another teams chat board. So like you said make up your mind. Criticize the passion of bisonville as persons trolling behind a computer, but it seems like you are doing the same, albeit with 12 people versus hundreds.

Woohoo! Grad school = in the books. Anyway...

Our O-line isn't as big as some of the others out there size wise, but we are very athletic across the board. This style of player fits well into our offensive scheme (west coast spread, zone) and we wouldn't have the output we do if we had 320 lb road graders up front. In addition to athleticism, our guys are technically sound players. Our OC Coach Best was the O-line coach during most of my time as an Eagle and demands that his guys play with great technique.

For those who think size and strength trumps technique: We had an O-lineman with a big frame and fantastic technique, even though he wasn't the heaviest or strongest. He weighed only 300 lbs which for 6'7'' isn't that large by O-line terms). Also, when he tested for pro scouts he only benched 225 19 times. That player was a guy by the name of Michael Roos. ;)

As others have said, this game will be decided in the trenches. Two very different styles of play, and two very good teams will have the opportunity to settle it between the lines, as it should be. Go Eags!!!

Amen brother. Some posters on this board are very close to getting banned, I think everyone is tired about hearing all the shit talking outside of the smack forum.

The upper parking lot is where the tailgating will happen, should kick up between 9-10, some will be there sooner than that. Looking forward to meeting the NDSU fans prior to the game, at least the respectable ones that is....

Good article on a NDSU player in the local paper.

That's not an ignorant statement at all.
