Fighting Hawks swan song in the Big Sky as they move over to the Missouri Valley next season. Hawks have been hit with injuries all year including to their two top stud corners. However, Studsrud is still leading them and he still has both Santiago and Olivera running the ball. Hawks were expecting to contend for the title, a title that they won last year, but just too many injuries to overcome. Late 4pm kickoff puts us against the Ducks (2:45) and the Beavers (6pm) at least part way, but the weather looks fine as of now. Blazers also are at home about when the game is getting over.

Hate to break it to ya but North Dakota's football team will remain in the Big Sky until 2020 then move over to the Missouri Valley Football Conference. All of the other sports at UND will leave after this school year for the Summit League.

Wyoming fan here, looking forward to playing Portland State in Laramie in 2023. LOL

What happened against North Dakota? We we ahead.

Simple game. ND made first half mistakes, PSU capitalized. PSU made a few more second half mistakes, ND capitalized.

PSU didn't let Santiago run riot, something to be said for that.

@Pounder let's emphasize "simple". Nice first half, watched carefully the game planning. The ND defense seemed to be much stronger in the 2nd half. When asking around a couple players said "they seemed to figure out what play we were going to run before we ran it". When I dug deeper as to how that could be...WE HAVE ONLY TWO RUNNING PLAYS.

I'm sorry but even coaching HS ball and needing to put in a simple offense our staff had at least 6 run plays. I can't say any more here. I have documented issues in the past. I keep hearing how young we are as the reason for the season. Seems like we have a good group of seniors since next year it appears we lose 3 of our CB's, 3 of our WR's, 2 of our RB's, 2 from the Dline, 1 of the TE's and 4 from the Oline. What will the excuse be next year...too many new guys??????

I feel your pain Faithinviks. Cal Poly fans have complained for years for our lack of creative play calling. It's either run the first three downs and punt or run first two downs and try to pass on third and long. Rarely do we try to pass on first or second downs.

North Dakota will actually be an Independent playing a Big Sky schedule in 2018 and 19. They will be ineligible for a Big Sky title those two years.

Near the end of the game, I had an errand to run and found the radio broadcast (after much work). Our crack staff was talking about Summers being the only "shifty" RB in the stable and the offensive line being depleted or somesuch. It's always the O-line, no? Can't do much of anything without space or time.

I'd buy that about us not having a "shifty" guy in the backfield. Martin and Talley are more likely to try to run over defenders and Petties-Wilson seems like more of a speedster.

I ended up catching most of the Seahawk game yesterday, so I guess you could say my entire weekend was spent watching football teams trying, and failing, to rush the ball.
