So, UNC welcomes an NAU team that just won at Arizona but lost to Sam Houston and South Dakota.

Sam Houston is the #1 ranked team in FCS so I don't think there is anything we can throw at them that they have not seen. We really needed the win yesterday since it ain't getting any easier.

Agreed, a little momentum with a win last week would have gone a long way. Looking at the schedule we have...

#14 Montana State
#6 Eastern Washington
#12 UC Davis
Southern Utah
Sac. State
#4 Montana
#14 Weber State

Brutal Schedule

Southern Utah might be our next best bet for a "W"

Finally Lamar's tiny contingency of away fans will be nothing compared to when the Montana fans overtake Nottingham. Last time I went to a Montana game at home it was like going to a Rockies - Cubs game, the Cubs fans outnumber Rockies fans 2-1.

Hoping the Bears will pull out some magic and surprise me.

We normally play well against NAU at home, but this team is hard to put a pulse on. I would like to say we will win, but we were so bad last Saturday.

The O still doesn't look very good. I don't know what it is, but it's been painful to watch this week and last week as well. The D looks amazing, so just a slight improvement with the O would really be dangerous.

Yeah, the offense really is lifeless. I can't believe how bad our 2 minute defense is as well. Really demoralizing way to end the half.

Lets hope we get something together on offense in the 2nd half.

Dang, the defense was just outstanding today (minor blip at the end of the 1st half).

Nice to get one of these scrappy wins that we always seem to end up on the wrong end of. Way to go BEARS!

At this point I would consider NAU our rival especially since Southern Utah is bailing after this year. We don't really have a rival in the same way as Idaho / Idaho State or Montana's, but...

NAU hasn't won a game at Nottingham since 2012!
Our fan bases are similar, not a ton of die hard NAU fans walking around Nottingham
Now we just need a sweet traveling trophy to be played for each year. That would really pack em in if there was something goofy on the line!

At one point, I thought Weber State would be a good rival. We had some good games against each other in the past and some good banter with some of their fans (who seemed to be pretty cool).

NAU-UNC, the battle of the Northerns or the catty-corner trophy.

If it wasn't taken by Washington-Washington State, I'd suggest something with an apple seeing as we're both teachers' schools.
