Oklahoma vs Weber State

Wow! I agree 100%..., my frustration isn't about wins or losses at this point it's the manner in which we're losing. Just when I thought the Utah State was the low point, we shoot 12% in the half? Young team or not, that just doesn't even seem possible, yet clearly it is. Someone said it in a previous post that we got so caught up in recruiting athletes that we're not up to par with "skilled basketball" players. I agree... Scottie wasn't jumping out the gym but he had a clear defined strength. How does Gittens finish with 2pts with his physical gifts? Good thing our conference sucks so we'll still compete, just dissapointing that we ended last season making #1 seed sweat now we're looking like Oklahoma scheduled a D3 school.

Ugh...well, that was exciting! Yikes...we got taken behind the woodshed and Oklahoma totally had their way with us. Rahe and Co. will be walking a little bow legged today. Ice packs??

There really aren't any high points from this beat down, but there is one; Ryan Richardson. The kid has an incredible amount of confidence. He is starting to get comfortable in the offense. I say, give him more time. Biggest disappointment...there are too many to count. I am extremely worried about Gittens on the road. He is great at home, but not so good on the road. For Weber to win, the Cats have got to be getting numbers from him.

So we got abused! The announcers were laughing at us! The crowd cheered when we broke the 39 pt run! Yes they cheered for Weber in light of our futility.
This is the same line up (minus James) that we'll have next year! Great athletes, but less than stellar basketball players. Is time going to make this group better? Humbling game.... The OU announcers were shocked by our performance and chuckled that Weber is the favorite to win the Big Sky!
Looking forward to playing Bristol!

Out of all the comments from last night, this is the one that has me worried! Everyone except for Joel didn't look like they belonged on the court with Oklahoma players! We were supposed to be athletic and able to compete! I thought we looked out classed from the opening tip! It's always cool to have a NCAA record! The 39-0 is one that hopefully gets broken soon! ESPN ran a clip of the 39 points before Richardsons 3 pointer! It was painful!

You know it's bad when Arky on the radio says it's like watching men vs. boys playing a BB game. It's a black eye for Weber & the Big Sky (being it was on TV). But the best medicine is Bristol coming up, then Big Sky action. The EWU game will tell us a lot about the status this point in the season. :-(
