Oregon or Oregon State

I choose Oregon State mainly because they hired Dennis Erickson years ago!!!!!!!

Wyoming fans (me included) really HATE Erickson. Long story......

Oregon fans like to go on like their team has been a powerhouse for a long time. Wrong. Up until a few years ago, the Ducks sucked. They don't belong on the same terms as USC, Oklahoma, etc.
 
I was mixed on this one, DJ is right Duck fans do think they are a powerhouse when they are not, but Beaver fans seem to think they are good at athletics after only one good year, their FB program has one good season every 4 years, their B-Ball team is pathetic, and the only good program they have(baseball) gets no press or attention, I went with the beavs /users/31/07/37/smiles/690663.gif
 
Oregon fans are darn near as bad as Washington fans. I grew up glued to the radio listening to Jerry Allen, but so many things have changed at Oregon since that point.

It's possible we ape the Fusky fans we detest. Washington still takes the cake, frankly... an arrogant lot that smells like fish.

Oregon State fans... I regard them as trying to bring Duck fans down to their level. It doesn't work that way, folks.

I went to school when Oregon was transforming from bad to mediocre in football. It's not like I don't have an appreciation for how this has been built, and the pace required... and, to a large degree, how much is left to go. No fan should EVER see their position as static. That's pretty much my comment on OSU fans... and you'd think there'd still be some pride remaining from their basketball runs in the 80s, but I'm not really seeing it.

Funny thing... hearing Boise State fans say "oh, we've passed you all up now, and we're aiming at (well, USC? Permanent BCS encampment?)." Reality will hit them soon as well.

yep some BSU fans get on my nerves also

It comes from every program, WSU fans seem to think they are the best in more then just partying
 
I dislike OSU more, but more for the school itself than for athletics. Seems like most of their graduate programs are a joke. I can at least recognize UO as a decent university. That being said, OSU's campus is nicer.

Jerry Allen is the worst radio play-by-play announcer I've ever heard. Can't remotely describe a game to save his life.

Close competition, if nothing else.

Well, at least Paul J. sounds lucid when he's going ape. Allen's "Wheaton's gonna score!" kind of begged for a field sobriety test.
 
Had to go with the Beavs. My grandparents last name is Beaver but I tend to find OSU sports too depressing. Despite a baseball program they haven't been hot at anything else since early 90's wrestling. I actually like their school, though. I used to be a quack addict and have followed U of O FB since their Rose Bowl appearance :ducks: against Penn State but am now a future PSU alum. I still favor Oregon over OSU so my vote goes to the /users/31/07/37/smiles/120px-or.png .
 
Hmmmm. . . . and what exactly (besides basketball THIS YEAR) have the Sucks-a-lot. . . er I mean, Ducks been "hot" in? It seems to me that Ducks football has been a lot of "NOT!" in last few years while the Beavers have been steadily improving (9 regular season wins last year). I mean, who are the reigning football Civil War champs??? Certainly not the DUCKS!

And, so sorry, but ya can't play down the the fact that the BEAVERS won a national championship (Hmmmm, when was the last time the DUCKS won ANY national championship?) in Baseball last year. This after they went to the WORLD SERIES the year before and are in great shape to REPEAT again this year.

It's just plain true: The Ducks plain suck!!! And sorry to burst your bubble, but they AIN'T GONNA WIN THE NCAA BASKBALL CHAMPIONSHIP!!!!

In regards to football, Oregon State has been improving but from the gutter to mediocrity /users/31/07/37/smiles/580819.gif . When they win the Pac-10 give me a call. Oregon has been there, done that and while they aren't the juggernaut I once thought they would be at this point, they seem to have a hot team every other year. They actually would be fine if they didn't choke down the stretch in the bad seasons. I give the edge to DA DUCKS!

Any National championship? I believe there was an Oregon kid last year by the name of Shane Webster who won a wrestling individual championship and took the quackers farther than they've gone in a while. And believe it or not I was pulling for OSU wrestling this year but they couldn't even muster up a better performance at the NCAA 'ships than Oregon did last year although they had a #16 ranking they are currently in 28th place.

The only thing that could save OSU basketball right now would be to have AC Green and Gary Payton apply for another year of eligibility and reminiss fans of the glory years that will never happen again. Oregon might not win the whole shebang but will at least make the elite 8 and give Florida a run for their $$$.

Oh and baseball, who cares. I'd rather watch underwater basketweaving than America's pastlife.

I agree, in football OSU is still not very good, one good season every 3 years is as Bozz Hogg said "mediocrity"

That's probably the one time I thanked my lucky stars I couldn't make a game in Eugene (which happens much more often than not anyway).

I just hope that suit was used to burn down some building in Eugene as part of firefighter training.

You have to wonder if he gets the same benefit from that special diamond fabric that the football players do.
 
Roboduck came before the diamond unis did.

I'll be damned if Nike didn't get that idea from outfitting Robo. Perhaps the grand scheme is to make the uniforms so ugly that they can bring Robo back and make people think it looks good by comparison.

When I mistyped "goof" instead of "good," I'm pretty sure it was Freudian.
