Oregon or Oregon State

Let’s compare the last 5 seasons of football (’02-’06).

Oregon:

2002: 7-6 (3-5) Bowl loss
2003: 8-5 (4-4) Bowl loss
2004: 5-6 (4-4)
2005: 10-2 (7-1) Bowl loss
2006: 7-6 (4-5) Bowl loss (should be *6-7)

Combined: 37-25 (22-19) 0-4 in bowl games

OSU:

2002: 8-5 (4-4) Bowl loss
2003: 8-5 (4-4) Bowl win
2004: 7-5 (5-3) Bowl win
2005: 5-6 (3-5)
2006: 10-4 (6-3) Bowl not yet played

Combined: 38-25 (23-19) 3-1 in bowls

You may consider OSU mediocre, but UO isn't exactly setting the world on fire either, the last 5 years.

OSU has 1 more win in that span.

Since 2000, both OSU and UO have won a PAC 10 championship.

Bozz Hoggz, OSU has won a PAC 10 title

As for choking down the stretch, what exactly would you call what the ducks did last year?

For all the money at UO's finger tips, they have underachieved badly.

Overall, the OSU ath. program is solid.

last season
FB top 25 finish
Baseball Natl' Champs
Softball # 8 finish - World Series participant
Gymastics top 12 finish (currently in regionals)
Crew top 20 finish (current season just started)

Swimming
Wrestling this season both finished in top 30.

not bad overall.

granted most people don't care about olympic sports, but it's not like OSU sports is the joke of the PAC 10.

This is the 1st year of Jim Zalesky (former Iowa coach)
Do you really think during his tenure finishing # 29 will be the best OSU will do?

As for basketball, I'll give you that. Who knows if they will ever be a good program again. They seem to be prioritizing football right now.

Welcome to the board, good points.

We shall see if money can really buy a wining program at Oregon this year. It it can't Oregon may just become the laughing stock of the Pac10.

Oregon needs to get over the whole uniform thing, it sort of makes them look stupid...But according to those high powered think tanks that is one thing that attracts the high school kids to Oregon's football program.

Yeah I've heard of that one, they may be ugly but lots of fans do like it, though if they stick with the helmet I just posted above I doubt that will keep up.

They wore brand new helmets in the bowl game last year, It take a whole season to break in a helmet! I'll bet they had some red stripes and blisters on their foreheads after that beating they took

Can't get more embarassing then that LV game. I've heard of them using those helmets, white helmets, yellow helmets, they have 4 now if I'm right.
