Orms "tweaks" knee on opening day of camp

Practice started today, and per the Greeley Trib, Orms tweaked knee in conditioning drill, doesn't sound like it will be long-term, and should be out for just a couple of days (speculation). In the meantime, Baca should be getting the reps solely with the first-team, and he may be able to bridge the gap in what is already a tight race at QB with a few days as the #1 guy.

since we are talking specualtion, i was told, that deen looked pretty darn good in working with the 1's today. granted, we are at day #1! ,but, he looked best of the 2. i'd say that these are going to be some fun and exciting times over the next 4 weeks before adams st. rolls in... we'll see what happens to orms. i'm sure he'll be back asap. but its fun to have compo like this, its been a while..... like i have been saying right along, it can only make he whole team, especially the offense, which desperatley needs it, stronger and better.. if the offense can ride the tails of a dominent deffense, well....... wow! this could be a great year for coach downing and the unc bears! :D :D :D
.

That's good to hear Mr Lippy, I think me, as well as others have excluded Deen from being a possible starter this season for no good reason, I've heard nothing but good things about him. I still believe he is the #3 guy as of right now, and is a long shot to be named starter, but there's a good chance he will see some action this season, and will undoubtedly be "QB of the future."

Don't forget the Lobato kid, he could be in the mix for the future as well. And what about the high school kid out of CA. What a coup that would be.
