Practice started today, and per the Greeley Trib, Orms tweaked knee in conditioning drill, doesn't sound like it will be long-term, and should be out for just a couple of days (speculation). In the meantime, Baca should be getting the reps solely with the first-team, and he may be able to bridge the gap in what is already a tight race at QB with a few days as the #1 guy.

since we are talking specualtion, i was told, that deen looked pretty darn good in working with the 1's today. granted, we are at day #1! ,but, he looked best of the 2. i'd say that these are going to be some fun and exciting times over the next 4 weeks before adams st. rolls in... we'll see what happens to orms. i'm sure he'll be back asap. but its fun to have compo like this, its been a while..... like i have been saying right along, it can only make he whole team, especially the offense, which desperatley needs it, stronger and better.. if the offense can ride the tails of a dominent deffense, well....... wow! this could be a great year for coach downing and the unc bears!

That's good to hear Mr Lippy, I think me, as well as others have excluded Deen from being a possible starter this season for no good reason, I've heard nothing but good things about him. I still believe he is the #3 guy as of right now, and is a long shot to be named starter, but there's a good chance he will see some action this season, and will undoubtedly be "QB of the future."
