This will be a good test for the Cats of Weber State. Pepperdine has 3 very good senior guards (Chris Reyes former Ute) is a very good player. I dont know about their bigs but it seems this is a guard driven team. Here is the link to where you can watch the game. http://www.wccsports.com/game-center/57d88eace4b00372fa720f49/ I dont know if its free, or even live.
#GoWildcats!!

Gonna be a tough road test, lets hope the Cats come out with focus and take care of the ball and play suffocating defense.

Lets go Weber, lets get a W and head into Stanford riding a two game win streak.

Waves are a 1.5 pt favorite

They opened as a 5 point favorite yesterday. Lots of money has been put on Cats. They have two 6'10 beasts inside. One of them has a better farmers tan than Cannon and Baker had last year. They also have a couple of quick guards and a 6'7 forward that can put up the points. I think we win by 5 to 10. We need to come out hot from 3. Keep Braxton out of foul trouble and we will be great.

I'm looking forward to seeing where this post-Bolomboy team is, I think the Waves are a perfect measuring stick for the start of the season.

Normally this type of loss would have be irate. However, I am not going to care about games our coach does not care about. I will not start caring till "league" begins. Rahe seriously can not win road OCC games. Last year we decided he has only won a handful of road OCC games, and I don't see that changing anytime soon. Need to learn to finish games. Get ready for his record vs BYU to be 0-11. His attitude with this games drives me nuts, and dont get me started with the home schedule... This program cant get to any sort of next level when we are losing to the bottom dwellers of the WCC. If he can win at Stanford, it might be his only quality OCC game. Dayton is up there, but he only has one Pac-12 win, as he beat Utah at home in 2011. Boy, my love for this program continues to drift. So disappointing on so many levels. I guess this is what we come to expect after 11 years of the same approach and mentality. Senglin had an interview where his goal is to win a game at the dance. These type of loses are what gets you a one and done type matchup come march. I will sleep well tonight, because I know Rahe will.

Good game except letting it slip away there at the end-- that, and Senglin being Senglin. I called it (the last look) except I didn't think it would be a giant step back 3 after waving the team off. There's just no need to be that selfish, any number of team looks could have led to a win or OT.

Senglin does look good, though. He could still make better decisions which would lead to fewer turns but he does look improved. Braxton looks like a total stud! I think most of the BSC will have a difficult time with him, especially with Seniors Hill and Senglin drawing attention. It seemed like Zach played high minutes, I wonder if he was a little pooped there about Q4 time?

Too many turnovers, missed free throws, a few minutes here and there where I think they may have lost focus somewhat lost a very winnable game that they led most of the way. I'm afraid the road gets much tougher at Stanford but should provide Weber with some quality experience and hopefully a decent game.

Little early in the season for us to throw Randy under the bus.

Totally spaced the game last night. I guess my mind is still in the football season mindset.

Looks like it was a close entertaining game. Too bad we couldn't have come away with a W. Seems like we led for a good chunk of it. Disappointing but it is a long season and many games left to play.

On to Stanford.

Oh no!!! The sky is falling, the sky is falling! First road game of the year and already posts like this. :ohno: They will start out by losing 2 on the road AND lose in Provo and Logan, how on earth will this program ever survive? :blah: :blah: :blah: :ohno:
The one thing that stood out to me in this game is that they need to spread the shots around a little bit better. Gittens gets 4 shots, Baker gets 0, and cannon gets 3, oh that and REBOUND the damn ball. :twocents:

Pepperdine is hardly a bottom dweller of the WCC. They are picked 4th (behind the Zags, St Marys and the Y who are all projected to go dancing) and they had NBA scouts there watching Murray (who went for 33 and put on quite a show in the second half).

Eleven turnovers between Senglin and Hill. We have to get more from our senior leaders!

Why such a short bench? We really only went 7 guys. Was Richardson sick or in the doghouse? When we gave Senglin several minutes rest around the 7 minute mark in the second half, we had no one who looked like they wanted to score. And that's when we lost our lead. Hill misses two FTs at the end and you have to wonder if he was gassed as he is normally reliable at the line. The Waves were said to have a weak bench by their announcer who claimed bench play was to Weber's advantage. They still played 10. I'm not a fan of Randy's short rotations and hated to see it so early in the season.

It would have been such a good win... but it was really a fun game to watch despite the outcome.

What we feared after losing Bolomboy came true in this game. In my view this game was lost by giving up 12 offensive rebounds (resulting in 13 2nd chance points), including the last one that resulted in the winning free throws. You get that rebound and you win that game, even though it never should of been that close. Without Joel in there, a three guard lineup is going to continue to lose on the boards until conference play, where every other team plays 3-4 guards. Also, Senglin handled the ball WAY too much.

Man, what a missed opportunity! I don't expect Weber to beat P-5 schools, but to ever gain more respect nationally they have got to be able to win these mid-majors games, home or away. Frustrating!

That was a good game with lots of positives. We led for 38 of the 40 minutes and at times looked like we were going to blow it open. Braxton is an offensive beast. We went to him early then stopped until the last two possessions of the game. If we would have kept them off the glass or eliminated dumb turnovers we win that thing. Pepperdine will finish 4th in WCC and may creep into the top 3. I am not sure how many players we will face with the firepower of Lamond Murray Jr. We could not stop him in the second half.

It's going to be a good year, lets see how we do against the Cardinal. I don't think it is fair for us to complain about playing weak teams and then get so made about losing to a good team on the road.

This loss did more for this team than a hundred "antelope" 50+ point victories could do!
I totally agree. we played tough and had a real chance to win with the ball in our best players hands and 12 seconds to go. Are there things to clean up? Of course. That is how it should be.

I'm not complaining about this game at all. It was a good game and we get them at our place next year. That makes it a great game in my mind. And a learning experience to boot. :coffee:
