Playing CU Next Year

I'm a CU fan who goes to UNC So I thought I'd throw this possibility out there.......Miami of Ohio wants to cancel the game scheduled between CU and Miami of Ohio for the weekend of Sept.12. Should this happen, that would leave CU with an extra 750k as part of the agreement between the two schools. Seeing as how CU would be scrambling to add a 12th game, what would yall think about having UNC go over there?
 
I love CU football too and hey our program needs 750k so why not. We better be prepared and not embarrass ourselves. If we played them I wouldn't care if we only won two games this season (CU & Montana).
 
I think that'd be awesome, save some money by not having to travel and make some money at the same time, I'd drive to boulder to see it.
 
I find it odd that someone is a CU fan who also goes to UNC. I would think all students identify with their school first then may support other teams. I am UNC through and through, but I also pull for other teams.

If UNC were playing a football game while CU or any other team were playing (even if CU was playing for the National title), I would watch the UNC game first.

I can't understand why anyone from UNC would even consider rooting for CU for anything. It would be like someone from North Carolina rooting for Duke to win a game. I bet you wouldn't find any CSU fans rooting for CU or going around with a CU hat or shirt if CU was in a championship game.
 
I agree with Budbear and Brian. You guys need need to be 100% UNC and no one else. I hate CU and especially CSU.
 
Give us a team who wins more than one game a year and support will skyrocket...........This is a point I've hammered home with you all time and time again. Following the first home game, attendance at football games drop because the team has not won more than one game a year since Scott Downing took over. The Athletic Department had a chance to fix that by firing Downing, but they chose to give him a contract extension. If the Department isnt willing to do what it takes to build a winner, why waste our time?
This might work out for UNC because CU doesnt have much of a choice as far as opponents. On top of that, ESPN may not keep to their pledge to show CU against supposedly Miami of Ohio on Sept. 12. This would be an easy moneymaker for UNC, but the home game against San Diego would need to be moved to accomodate this possibility. Seeing as how UNC has one definite loss already (Kansas), it probably wont happen.
 
I grew up with CU football and basketball but I will always cheer for UNC over CU whenever they compete against each-other. I like Air Force football too but I passionately hate CSU and Ft Collins. CU competes at a different level than UNC so it is nothing like the tar heels and Duke.
 
Exactly. Anyway, playing 2 big 12 teams (and the favorite to win the North) in two weeks would be demoralizing. According to buffzone.com, CU and Toledo are trying to work something out, and it seems like it would be too big a hassle to move the San Diego game.
 
I do not see a problem with someone who goes to UNC and roots for CU because both schools don't meet too often when it comes to sports. I'm sure there are students at UNC who wear CU hats and stuff like that because they grew up rooting for the Buffs. One way to overcome that is to start winning football games like it was the late 1990's.

NO,because that's how most FCS programs survive. Some are playing two FBS teams a year. I think PSU does just about every year. Some FCS programs like UM don't have to because they have such a large fan base, but most like UNC have to.

It's the times...not even CU is immune from that. CU is lining up more ESPN televised games due to how the Big 12 conference pays out $$$ to the schools that appear on television. The sad thing is that CU is playing two Thursday night games and one Friday night game to earn some $$$. CU will have to do that because when SEC power Georgia visits Boulder in 2010, they will need the $$$ to pay the Dawgs.

Those Thursday night games helped build Virginia Tech and Louisville into the programs they are now. I think it's a good thing.
