Portal Transfer 2024

For curiosity I was looking around to see where if anyplace Kam Rocha / Jaylin Speed went too?

Neither appear to be getting anything significant.

Humility is a good thing for those thinking Sac State isn’t good enough for them! We have a solid program.

I thought he was going to have an opportunity this season to grow! However if a player hits the portal in back to back seasons?
They aren’t committed to the program. Too immature possibly?
We’ve lost some players that I truly miss but I understand because a few of them have big NIL opportunities. Our 2 that went to UW, previous season ASU one of my FAV RB’s.
But these mediocre players that want play games wanting attention. BYE Felicia

Just reading on on the Weber vs. Washington game - neither Lynch nor Broussard earned outright starting roles game 1.

Both are on the two-deep though and will probably get lots of PT against a familiar BSC foe.

Carson injured himself in camp off season. Finished his rehab now he’s ready to play again. He wasn’t happy w our OC BF.

I’m not happy w our OC performance. The NAU game still has me annoyed. What a horrible job he did that day.

Looking over this years roster again and incoming transfers have been a bust it seems for the Hornets (not 100% miss but it seems a high percentage). Grover and Leota have made their mark but overall it doesn’t appear that most of our transfers from bigger schools like Utah, Cal, Fresno, SDSU, Oklahoma State, Colorado are finding much success unfortunately.

Very outside perspective but it feels like union hall mentality on coaching staff at times. Maybe guys like Cope who were contributors not getting to start because this guy was here before you?? I have a hard time believing that every single position that we got Transfers our guys were far superior thus no need for the transfer player.

Didn't someone post that Cope is out for the season with injury? I trust the coaches are playing the players that give this program the best chance at victory, strategic redshirt starts not withstanding.

If I were a HC in CFB. Better start winning quick.

If not you might find yourself being replaced and if a coach isn’t playing his best FB nobody cares about your long term goals. Figure out your 3 yr plan then but you have a job to do this season.

So disappointed.. this season is like everything is coming unraveled.

This is a solid roster w exception in how the QB depth chart has been managed. Only having 2 QB’s with fragile KB and our next big star QB redshirt freshman carrying the load?

I thought we had a star Juco transfer QB? Is he not ready? I think Conk doing great and improving but pissing off Carson Camp to leave was a bad move for a long FB season.

We had our projected starting QB quit on this team after 2 games. I don't have any inside baseball on the relationship between Fresques and KB, and I don't really care. Maybe KB felt mismanaged, maybe his ego was too big and didn't want to give reps to a younger QB, maybe Fresques could have given KB more hugs and kisses, maybe lots of things. Who cares, ultimately KB quit and he left this team in the lurch and if given a medical year, will be at his 4th team in 7 years.

Camp leaving was a "meh" moment. Camp got the start in week 1 in '23 and KB ran literal circles around him from a performance standpoint and Camp was benched. His viability as a Hornet ended that weekend in Louisiana. Credit to Camp, he had a hell of a game in the playoffs at USD and almost pulled off a comeback against his old team. But we all knew Camp wasn't going to see significant reps barring major injuries to KB and Conklin so, meh. Camp wouldn't have saved this season, and in actuality Camp getting reps over Conklin would have delayed Conklin's development by a full season. It was evident with the spot starts of Conklin in '23 that Fresques was putting all the eggs in the Conklin basket.

Not sure what is going on with the JC QB. Unless the plan is to use him in running situations, not sure he would have seen the field much given the way Conklin has been playing so far.
