Portland State @ Oregon Thread

Plus, Cal is better than Oregon.

Oregon turns the ball over, and last time I checked, PSU leads the nation (Division 1A and 1AA) in takeaways.

This should be a game...

the ducks ARE taking us lightly, go look at there board, they are talking about the Washington game, like we don't exsist

Well, Portland St. beat my predicted spread. I thought a reasonable guess was Oregon 84 - PSU 3 to be on the safe side, but Oregon only won by 43 points. That really was a game...just like some of you guys said it would be.

My favorite play of the game was when Charles Manigo (hope that's correct...never heard of the guy before) took Stewart all the way out of bounds after Stewart had let up and pushed him into the bench. It was a very sportsmanlike play. Much to his chagrin, taking one of Oregon's starters out of the game didn't help to give the Vikings a chance at all. I thought the Ducks should have just started their fourth string and settled for a mere 35-point win, simply because DI-AA teams always play that way when they get the chance to visit a real college football stadium and play in front of a real crowd. Potentially losing a starting running back to flagrantly dirty play against a bottom-of-the-barrel team just doesn't make sense.

On the upside, the UO Athletic Department probably won't give PSU the honor of playing in Eugene again anytime soon. They obviously weren't appropriately grateful for the opportunity to play at Autzen, just judging from their behavior both on and off the field of play. (Twenty feet out of bounds is certainly off the playing field.) But, hey, if you can't get it done on the field (and the Vikings obviously could not), then maybe the out-of-bounds antics are the only other option. It certainly doesn't do the Ducks any favors to play against what amounts to a practice squad anyhow.

Yes, they were. Unfortunately, they had a huge impact on the outcome of the game. In a close one like that, you hate to see the officiating crew decide the game.

You sum up the typical Duck fan nowadays.

Read the story in the Oregonian on the hit out of bounds. Should it have been a flag? Yes, of course. Was it intentional? No. Jonathan Stewart and Manigo talked after the game about it. PSU and UO will play again and you can count on that. Bellotti and Walsh are on good terms, and Bellotti has indicated that he likes the idea of playing PSU on a regular basis according to the UO radio broadcast...

I wasn't trying to say that they had an impact on the game like the Oklahoma game that was given to you. I was just asking where the crew was from for this non-conference game.

Sorry GoDucks but the Vikings won't just die and stay down, we may have lost but I'm glad we showed some bite, we didn't quit, alot of events showed that

A Duck fan complaing about officiating

Who complained about the officiating? Not me.

I thought I was being sarcastic enough to convey that in my last post...
