This time, Vikings aim a little higher

Like the other poster said, if you can press the guards and get some turnovers going, it will be a game. We've heard good things about your 5'6 guard and going into Gonzaga and winning is always impressive. However, I'm looking for our bigs, Love and future NBA player Derrick Brown to step up in the paint, where you'll have the most trouble. If the team that beat Mizzou, Va Tech, Memphis and LSU shows up, it will be a long night for you all.

Pretty good analysis. I think it's clear that we have to pressure the Xavier's into turnovers. If Xavier can get their offense set-up and get the ball in the middle, PSU will be in trouble.

I actually think this is possible. PSU has seemed to struggle more in their halfcourt defense. If this turns into a pressing, havoc-causing endeavor, I'm okay with that. Julius Thomas and Andre Murray were born for that kind of contest. Mara, JD, and Waters aren't bad in that kind of situation, either.

You dont have to worry about it turning into a pressing, havoc-causing endeavor, because Xavier will not press. Now if you were talking only about Portland state pressing then you can be okay with that. However, Xavier did beat mizzou, a team who presses the whole game and is pretty dang good at it

Stole this from the Xavier Hoops site......inside info from ESPN. Best bet to be upset: Xavier....

EAST REGION

BEST BET

No. 13 Portland State (17.6 percent) vs. No. 4 Xavier (62.7 percent)

Portland State, whose adjusted statistics are only about as impressive as Iowa State's or St. John's, isn't the ideal killer. But Xavier is a textbook example of a giant waiting to be slain by just about anyone: The Musketeers turn the ball over considerably more often than they generate turnovers (21.9 percent vs.18.9 percent of possessions). They are heavily reliant on making more free throws than opponents (9.1 FT margin per 100 possessions), which is always a concern in a one-and-done scenario. And they don't score enough to blow past their flaws (adjusted offensive efficiency of 111.3). Considering everything working against Xavier, and the fact that Portland State at least has a puncher's chance, according to our model, this is as good an upset pick as you'll find in the first round.
