Villanova lost to Syracuse last night due to missing two 30ish yard FGs that would have won them the game in regulation.

Caught the last 10 minutes or so of that game. I feel bad for that kicker, but he totally cost them the game.

I think NDSU is going to take down Iowa State.
I think so too. I dislike NDSU, mostly because of their fans, but you have to admit that what they have done is impressive. They don't seem to have missed a beat, either. Their fans are also louder than ISU's. :o

Looks like NDSU will be the team to beat once again this year. That defense sets the tone for the whole game. I can't understand why more FCS clubs do or at least try to emulate their defense. Player for player EWU is just as talented if not more but our scheme doesn't come close to being as efficient as NDSU. If EWU does play NDSU this year, it will be one very interesting game.

NDSU's defense compliments their offense. When you play ball control the whole game, it keeps your defense fresh.

Even though we ran 100 offensive plays against SHSU, our defense is often on the field for a looong time due to the up-temp nature of our offense. Not sure what the fix is, but I really liked how our running game looked against SHSU. I hope to see a lot more balance like that - it's the only way to keep our defense a little fresher.

Montana scores a TD, but has the XP blocked. Now 6-3 Montana in the 2nd quarter. This is on Root Sports, BTW.

FWIW, Iowa State might be the toughest job in all of the BCS. Even in the sparse state of Iowa, they are dwarfed in support by the Hawkeyes. There are few places to recruit from, and they play in the only league that'll take them--- the Big XII--- and they don't have profit sharing in that conference. Even when they play conference foes tough, the refs put the job on them. Remember that Texas game last year that was just stolen from them?

That's a shit state of affairs.

I assume the only attraction for Bohl in Laramie was a bigger paycheck. Wyoming would get bitchslapped by the Bison.

DJ May looks impressive for the Cowboys. I remember EWU recruiting him heavily out of Federal Way HS. We have several current players from there.

Wyoming is not impressive at all. We'd drop 35 plus on them.
Not sure about that. Their defense is pretty impressive; they've put a ton of pressure on Johnson. He's been running for his life the entire game.

That's not terribly surprising. Montana's OL was their biggest question mark coming in as they lost a couple of starters between spring ball and now.
