Potential Head Coaches

Do you know when we get 400k to play Nevada do we have to pay for our travel costs out of that?... air/rooms, food and ect...if so not alot of net $$$

Some people are weird man. Eastern is at the worst its been in a decade or two. We have the chance to bring back the dude who won us a national championship and multiple deep playoff berths. But they're like, "Uh you know, I'm just not sure about him. He might have some issues. Can we get Nick Saban out of retirement?" And I'm over here like, lets get all the money we have, fill up a Brinks truck and back it up to Baldwin's house.

We absolutely should give BB a look if he's interested. We'd be crazy no too. I think we will have some top candidates apply if/when we go that direction.

Good to see y'all on board ousting Best. I'd take Tang's grandma at this point. Been fed up for 3 years with the continual failures. It's like Wheel of Failure week in and week out but the platitudes had kept the Eag fan masses placated. I don't care to see Baldwin 2.0 either as we know that many of the same maladies (defense) would continue and despite the previous success, Eastern was just a stepping stone for Baldwin to go make some real money and when he did, it didn't go very well. Certainly understand the desire to relive the past but it's time to find an up and comer who can surround themselves with hungry, focused position coaches who will err towards aggression. I urge leadership to err on the side of aggression as well.

Oh cool, the dude who called California teams "commies" and thinks there is such thing as dei officiating is is upset and telling me to grow up cause I called a few people "weird". The most milquetoast of insulting names.

just calling it like I see it, obviously. If it makes you feel better since you can't hear yourself conflate personal interactions with fellow fans from broad observations about competing institutions and it's only a handful of milquetoast insults, I'll just forgive you your trespass. I'm not that magnanimous usually but recent events have shown me that none of us live forever.

I still disagree about Baldwin. ;-)

Can you just speak plainly about what is offending you guys?

We might have the chance to get back our former head coach who won us a national championship and multiple deep playoff runs. I just think it is weird you guys think he isn't good enough now and that we should get someone else. Sure if we can get some up and coming D2 head coach or FCS coordinator like Idaho did then that would be awesome. But it is just as likely to not work out. I think Baldwin has the proven track record of success at Eastern. And if you guys don't remember, WE'RE BROKE AS FUCK!!! For the money we paid to Drake to lose to them at home we could have bought out Best and told him to hit the road. Baldwin is the most proven commodity we're going to get. And maybe Jim McElwain a close 2nd.

I'm allowed to have differing opinions with some of you. I support Eastern with what modest means I have probably like you guys. And I'm not going to be gas lit into thinking an opinion is weird is some horrible offense.

I’d tend to agree with that.

Whoever we get, my going in position is that they need to have strong recruiting ties to the PNW. That’s part of the reason Baldwin had so much success. For whatever reason, during his time here we always got really good in-state recruits along with a strong pipeline in places like the Bay Area and the Willamette Valley. I don’t think we’re getting those kind of guys anymore.

To put it into perspective, the 2016 Senior Class had 3 receivers who’d go on to sign NFL contracts, along with a DE. I don’t think we’ve put anyone in the league since, and that’s pretty telling.
