Practice starts on the 6th

I think I'll pass on seeing the Viks the first week, 7-9 am is just too early, but I'll try to make one or two practices the following weeks. Can't wait for this season to start! This is going to be fun.
 
Interesting information about the secondary logo. Looks like the logo that we have now will stay in place for athletics.
 
PORTLAND STATE FOOTBALL MEDIA DAY • NEW UNIFORM INTRODUCTION
Portland State will have a Football Media Day Event on Tuesday, August 7 at 10 a.m. at Stott Community Field. Head Coach Jerry Glanville will speak about the upcoming season in a press conference format at 10 a.m. At 10:15 a.m., PSU will introduce its new football logo and uniforms, designed by Nike. Coaches and players will be available for interviews immediately following the uniform introduction.

Portland State has an incorporated a new secondary logo for the football program that will be featured on the Viking uniforms and helmets. A stylized Viking spear does not replace the current Portland State Athletics logo, it merely serves as an alternative for the football program. The Viking spear was developed by sports-apparel giant Nike, and will run over the crown of the helmet. Nike has also produced new Viking uniforms for the 2007

Rumor has it, and it's no great shock, that the home uniforms will be almost exclusively BLACK. Comes with the territory when Glanville is your head coach. Hope the new spear is a good design. Go Viks!

I'm looking forward to this, a logo just for football. I'm going to wait for the logo to come out before I make judgment if we should have it on this site.
 
I'd like it if the new uniforms had alot of black. It is a very marketable color, and for better or worse, marketing plays a huge role in how these things are decided. Here's to increased revenue from jersey and gear sales!Last edited by on 2007-07-25, 10:14; edited 1 time in total

I was afraid of the all black. Green and black is a great combo. Hope there's some green. Still I'm excited to see them and if the players like them then ok by me.
 
Call me crazy, but weren't the existing home uniforms pretty much all black?

The dark green middle part of the jersey nearly looks black with the black pants and black shoulders.
