Prediction Thread Week 2: EAGLES 44@ NDSU 50 OT

Jesus, people. So we're not going to be favored in Fargo. So NDSU has a defense that we have never seen the likes of. So what? Have some faith because we can win this game if the team goes in with the right mentality, executes the game plan, and limits penalties.

I'm going out on a limb, but. Eagles 38 Bison 24

I'm with you. I really don't understand the pessimism. This will be a very tough game, but not enough to overcome homerism, for me at least. :twocents:

EAGS: 41
Buffalos: 34

Also, WTF happened to lakesbison? He's not... you know... a total douche anymore. Did the old lakes die and they put a new, cooler lakes in his position kinda like the new cool-ass pope?

I worry about the run defense this game, and the bison getting too many short third downs that they can convert. They also are a much more disciplined team than wsu. They will not have all the boneheaded penalties that wsu did, and that could work against us as well. On the flipside I believe that they are going to struggle with our speed on the outside on offense. Once again I have to go against us and pick the bison to get us 34 to 28. However if we clean up our own mistakes and put up 21+ points in the first half, I believe we will run away from them. That's what I want to see. In the 2010 playoffs there was a huge discrepancy in speed, and the only thing that kept them in the game was the slick field from the snow.

I'm also more nervous for this game than WSU, particularly because I did not expect us to beat them. However, I think NDSU will run the ball 50 to 60 times against us, and we have not proven this is something that we can stop. Until we show we can do that, I think NDSU has the advantage.

NDSU-31
EWU-21

I agree with this statement.
NDSU 38
EWU 28

However, I also thought we were a 3 score underdog to WSU based on how both teams finished the season last year. Hope I am off again!

After seeing EWU dismantle WSU, and NDSU struggle agains CSU.... Eags win this one easily. 60-21

lmao!

My head thinks the bizon win at home by 7 or less. My heart says if EWU scores 40+ we win.

I think NDSU will center their offense around the run as they have in the past and what has given the Eagles problems. Our LB'ers are going to be busy today but very capable of slowing the running game down enough the NDSU will have to diversify. I don't see them scoring a lot of points, that is not their style.
On offense I don't think we are giving the addition of coach Taylor to the staff enough credit. I think Taylor brings a whole set of new wrinkles to the already prolific Baldwin offense. Coach Best has again done an outstanding job with a challenged o-line. This year the challenge is youth but these guys have a very high skill level. The Eagles will be slowed down by a v.good Bison defense but not be stopped.
Eagles 34 Bison 31

Eags outplayed the Bison. GG showed he still has some growing to do but made plays all over the field to keep the Eags in the game until the last play. What other team in recent memory has given NDSU 3 TO's and committed over a hundred yards in penalties and taken them to OT in their house? Will look for the Eags to make the run to win the BigSky and hope to see NDSU in Frisco or Fargo in the postseason. Sweet dreams Bison. Sweet dreams :-)
