Of course I'm picking the Eagles, here's why.
I don't think the Mt offense can keep up with the Eagles. Our offense has been tested by some of the better defenses in FCS and still comes away with 45-50 points against them. The Eagles started the season by scoring 45 on the Cougars. Then we hung 44 on NDSU which is known for its defense. The most on either team this season. On and on, we'll get our points. Eagles 50
The defense had improved steadily until the Bobcat game then gave up two easy TD's before holding them to a FG the rest of the game. If MT moves the ball it will be on big plays not grinding it out. Griz 35.
I don't know if it is my opinion or wish that Baldwin does not "take your foot off" and runs up the score, but he is probably above that, unlike Stitt last year.
Go Eagles!
Well in my opinion, when you're up BIG against a team like EWU who is always capable of putting an insanely inappropriate amount of points in a short time, you don't "take your foot off the gas". Leave no doubt.
The question for us is will the good Griz show up? If they do, they most certainly will keep up with EWU due to the fact that EWU's defense is, relatively speaking, not as good as Montana's defense. It shouldn't be an issue for Montana to get points. Now Montana's defense has definitely been suspect in the secondary so I don't see EWU having any problems being able to move the ball and scoring. I think this game will be a shootout and come down to who makes fewer mistakes and takes advantage of the opportunities given.
Whoever wins this game will win in between 3-7 points, and I'm taking Montana in this one (because I'm a homer, damnit!)
