If you recover the ball, you get a chance to put away the game.
If they get the ball, your defense has done a great job holding them 7points in the second half and that came from an interception short field.
If they score you will at least have time to bring the ball back and put away the game.
If you kick it deep and they put together a long drive, you don't get that chance to end the game.
