College Sports Madness has us ranked 18. Nice of them. It's been a while since we've been ranked by anyone. we'll have to beat ISU to stay there, of course.
 
Rankings are nice. We get a win this weekend and more will surely follow.

Along those same lines, looking at the playoff picture, I'm thinking we are going need maybe two wins (and probably three) from the games against Idaho State, North Texas, Montana State, Cal Poly, Montana and Eastern Washington, and need wins in the other ones in order to qualify. Tall order but we got the most difficult one out of the way. It would be nice for ESPN to showcase PGE Park for football and not soccer.

Great to see the team rewarded for their big win. Been a while since a national ranking was in order (still have the schedule poster on my wall from the 2011 team that was the last ranked one).
 
Hard to tell where we will be in the rankings after the bye week. Safe bet is to stay where we are, but two teams ahead of us, Cal Poly and New Hampshire, may drop considerably after bad losses this weekend. Consequently, McNeese State got a good road win, they're the only team that may pass us. I'm thinking, maybe a one spot jump.

Current Sagarin ratings have us at #105, 11th in the FCS and the highest ranked team in the Big Sky.

Based on this, we are roughly an 8.25 point favorite over Montana State (5.5 differential and 2.75 home field).

We have to have enough PSU fans in the stands to get that home advantage. If the Visitors outnumber the home team, I would give MSU 5 points making it roughly a dead heat.

If our O Line plays well, we win. If they can't move the D line, it's going to be a much more difficult day.

Eastern's offensive line is pretty decent, and they absolutely destroyed Montana State's DL. In fact, they probably beat up on the Bobcats OL more than any other team they've played thus far. You'll score a bunch in this one.

As long as your defense can contain Prukop, you're in good shape. He's a versatile and multi-talented QB, so stopping him isn't easy. Eastern failed miserably at it and had to win by outscoring them.

We are #110 now, just behind Southern Utah. #15 for all FCS and #2 for the Big Sky, behind SUU.
 
I have not heard of Football Gameplan, but they have us #5. Check out the video.

In fairness to Em, he's put together a good top 25. The only glaring team on his list is Fordham at #6... no chance.

He is the only poll I've seen with JMU #1. I watched them last weekend and thought "damn, that is a good football team." I also like that he has Portland State, Eastern, and Southern Utah ranked, but not Montana or Montana State.

Even as an Eastern fan, I struggle to look at our games thus far and label us as any better than a 13 like we are in his poll. We've got a lot of upside and can improve quite a bit, but as of now, 13 is about right.

Portland State has probably the best FCS win of the season thus far over a good Washington State team on the road. Any 5-1 team with a win like that deserves recognition.

Appreciate the sentiment but enough with the sandbagging. EWU is the class of the league and I have no idea how Beau Baldwin has not been offered a mega-million dollar contract with a FBS team.
