Recruits and-or News for 2008

Seems like it started around 10 or 11 a.m. last year. Its would be nice to see a few more fans attending maybe they should offer a preseason discount on season tickets, Wildcat gear and maybe advertise a little. But then again who am I kidding no one here cares about WSU football "we're a B-BALL school" right well we're a b ball school to half the people on this board anyway.

Why in the crap can't you support both? A true wildcat fan is one who supports bball AND football, volleyball, track or whatever WSU sports there are. It makes me so d*** mad when people will only support basketball because they say this is a basketball school. I find it interesting that for this being a "basketball school" our attendance figures show that we have more fans at football then we do at basketball. Just support them both.

Well said AJ. I am primarily a football fan but this year I have attended WSU basketball, women's and men's soccer, volleyball and track. Two of our football players significantly contributed to the indoor track team this year (Mike Phillips and Tim Toone). They did sprints and I can't wait to see the Big Sky competition try to cover them both on post routes this fall. People need to come out and watch to see all the high level athletes we have at Weber.

Singing to the choir... WSU makes family season tickets to football and basketball so affordable, it is ridiculous that we don't have more families in the stands.

My family and I have attended both Football and Basketball games from the time my wife and I were married. My kids have grown up watching Wildcat sports. They love watching the girls soccer and etc.

The new O-line coach is Don Eck. Coaches the same fundamentals and philosophy as Gurke, but not nearly as tightly wound as Gurke. News is that the players really like him. He played for Mac and was an assistant to Mac at the U.

It seems that Coach Mac has gone deep in the trenches for help with the Oline and Dline. I am a newby to your blog, were there a lot of challenges for your Dline last year, besides the Portland State game?

it seems as if the kid from Oregon has a lot of upside, Demetri. the word on the kid from Hawaii is that he's going to be an impact player, and that he's one that got away from the Warriors. NMSU liked him, but coaching conflicts and personnel changes made it tough. look for a 400+ bench, 575 squat, and a 325 powerclean at 6' 1 and 270 lbs. with a 4.89 40, and a 4.45 pro agility from him.

can Higgins lead the team? he did good on the tail end of last season, 5-2 right? he's been working out like a wild man also.

go wildcats!

The schedule posters for football are available for those of you who want one. Please go and get some from the athletic department for your home, office, business, neighbors, etc. This is the first time that I can remember the posters being done before the end of August. The posters look really good, and if we can help get them into the community, hopefully, we can get more people to the games.

We need to get with marketing and get these posters scattered all over businesses in N. Utah.

Have they considered making them a desk top back ground? I don't think that this would be hard to do and would be an easy way for many to get a copy on the web.

I doubt it, but that is a good idea. Make it a screensaver too, highlights of the team last year. I sent out an email to the WSU admin. marketing and athletics to see if they can do something during Sunday night's (July 13th) Lindquist Family Pops Concert and Fireworks at WSU. I wish it was next weekend, I just thought of it today that we could hand out flyers and posters. Players and coaches could have a booth to sign autographs and free tickets to kids.

I called and talked with Coach Mac, they did not have time to get something organized for the fireworks. He was not even aware that WSU and Lindquist put on a firework show every summer. He was going to go talk to the marketing department about it. Maybe next year we can get something organized.

Please buy your tickets for the Utah game through WSU!!! We have 3,000 tickets allotted to us, and we get to keep all of the revenue from those ticket sales. The U wants Weber to send back all unpurchased tickets ASAP so that they can sell them. The U game is sold out except for our allotment of tickets. Also, the Wildcat Club has arranged for people to ride FRONT RUNNER to the game and back. The cost will be minimal. CALL THE TICKET OFFICE AND GET YOUR TICKETS FOR THE U GAME!!!!

All of our tickets will be in the same section, I have no idea where they are at. The ticket office will be able to tell you all of the details.
