Red & White Scrimmage

To All,
All of us know we have an "Outstanding FB Coach, you should have seen him last night at the Lobster Dinner Dance, that "DUDE" was making some moves on the dance floor. I have never seen those moves before ;) ;) ;) He was doing the Worm, etc. I have never had so much fun at the activities I have been attending for 20 years, so much fun. So much great moves on the Dance Floor last night :o :o :o that is what a few glasses of wine does for you ;) ;) ;) , nothing negative, just a lots of "FUN". I was very happy to see that there were Designated Drivers, and the "Holliday Inn Express Bus for transportation back to hotel :notworthy: :notworthy:   Saw many of our former MBB, FB Players, i.e. Grant Williams, Greg Heard, Ashton Clark, Steve Forgette, Kevin Winford, many more, and of course our Coaches. Vic Wallace

Vic glad to hear everyone had a good time! Coaching is such a full time job (just ask the family) it's nice to hear the coaches having a good time.

I saw on the news coach B. saying he thought the team was ahead of last year in some areas (passing game I think) but a little behind in others. So far what do you think? On another thread someone said the team has a lot of speed. That's good to hear because there no substitute for speed!
P.S. thanks for keeping us posted.

Eagledawg,
I agree with Coach Baldwin, I love the speed the team has. The Defense shines at times and the Offense does the same. I am so impressed with the Wide receivers, they doesn't miss many balls thrown to them. Watch out for a few more WR to join the group, i.e. Nic Sblendorio, Skyline High, Aaron Clark, Sumner High, Austin Ehlo, LC via Whitworth, Col., and more. Nic runs beautiful routes, along with Clark, Ehlo, they also have height to go up and get the ball. Kendrick Bourne (Bourne Identity) is coming into his own, he started as a Freshman last year, now he is playing like a Vet. Add the others to that group, and it could be trouble for our opponents. My concern is once we complete practices on May 1st, who comes back in July. Right now we have 83 Players on the roster, and 26 Recruits coming in sometime in July? (109) Players, don't know how much can suit up, and travel. That is an outstanding problem to have. Our RB are getting their strides, and I am impressed with Jalen Moore, he runs hard and shifty, Jabari Wilson, should he stay healthy, he could really make the Backs unstoppable, same with the two new additions this year, namely Samuel Mintah, Franklin Pierce High, Reece Mahaffy, Coeur d'Alene, ID, Cody Hecker, Sandpoint, High, he is running hard, Mario Brown, he looks great running, once Quincy Forte, get healthy, The BACKS is going to be very SCARY. Should DJ Martin get ready, "TROUBLE " for opponents. Speed is all over this team, and you can see the Pride these Players for entire team and Coaches. Vic Wallace (Sorry for my book)

To All,
The Defense is going to be tough again this year, we will have to see when they get in the the Field against SHU on Aug. 23rd, we all can look good in practices, on game day it counts. New Comers this year I am impressed with, Andre Lino, Bishop Blanchet High, Brandon Pritchett, Clover Park High, Patrick Woodson, Mountain View High. July we should see some more addition to our Roster, when Recruits and invites are added. You will see Zachary Johnson, John Goldwire, Dylan Zylstra, Derek Weston, Ashton Boothroyd, Samuel Ebucam, Matthew Sommer, Jordan Pulu, and more joining the Defense. Line Backers and Defensive Backs speaks for themselves, they are going to be Great. The Offense, is coming along, David Delgado, Jarrod Jones Jake Rodgers, Jay Deines, Thomas Gomez, Aaron Neary, T.J.Boatrght, Cassidy Curtis, Jase Butorac, Clay DeBord will be in the mix of things with some of the Recruits in the mix. These are my insights, the Coaches makes the decisions, they may not see the same from their eyes. Take care all. Vic Wallace

Vic, I have seen both Aaron Clark Sumner High and Samuel Mintah, Franklin Pierce High Play in the South Puget Sound League since my daughters school was in the same league. What I remember about Mintah was that he was built like a fire plug and could pound it up the middle but what was impressive was when he would run wide, turn the corner he would just run away from the defense. Defenders would misjudge the angle on him because he could turn the jets on and be gone. Yeah that was High School but he still seemed quick!

Eagledawg,
Aaron and Samuel, are great additions to our team, along with the other Players. Rocky Hanni who was an Offensive Line Player a few years ago, was also from Sumner High. He comes to a lot of EWU Games. I am up this time of morning for a GREAT reason.
I am a "GREAT GRAND DAD" for the fifth time. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: My Grand Daughter delivered a little lady @ 12.15am, todays date, 6lbs,1ounce, 18 1/2 inches long, @ Deaconess Hospital. I need to play these numbers 618, they are my address where I live, how decent. She already have my deceased wife 1st name (Cairlon). We now have 3 Great Grand Sons, 2 Great Grand Daughters. Wish them all the best in life. Will be going out to see our team today and on Thursday, should God permits. Have and great day, I will. Vic Wallace

Vic,

Congratulations on the new family addition. Hope you get to spend some time with your grand daughter and G G. grand baby this week.
Thanks so much for keeping us all up to speed on the practices this spring. I really appreciate it, not being able to attend except for the spring game. We will be over for the graduation ceremony in June for our eldest. Take care this spring and we will see you this summer.

GO EAGS!

loloman,
As usual, it was nice seeing you at the scrimmage on Saturday, even with the rain, snow, and wind that day. I missed the practice today, my side kick went to the hospital to see our little addition in family, Great Grand Daughter, she came back a little late, so I spend some time getting my boat ready for the lake. I broke the ignition switch, didn't know my strength. ;) ;) ;) Then found out the Battery for the 70 Force Motor, was time for replacement. I did the best I could with my Sciatica, and bad knees. This boat is going to my youngest son, who lives in Moses Lake, and a Pastor there for approximately 6 years, he is our youngest son at age 49. He will get it after he learn how to maneuver the boat in and out of the lake, and he must get his Marine License. His brother will go with us to visit him and take the boat, once we get a date he is not busy. We normally try to make some of the Graduation some times, providing the weather is not cold. Take care. Vic, congratulations on the birth of your grandchild and hope all are doing well! I thought that Vic must be a real Eagle fanatic making a post at 2 in the morning then I read the rest of your post. :)
Two times now I thought I might have a chance to say hello in person. First time was a Saturday April 12, it was family weekend (my daughter is a EWU student) and I read that you were going to be at the 10:00 AM scrimmage. Well we roll into town just after noon (I live on the West side) and practice was already over (dang!). That was when they had a track meet right after. Second time was this Wednesday we made an unplanned trip to Cheney due to my Daughter fractured her foot (of all things playing football). I knew after the spring game there were two more practices this week but not sure what days but when I looked on the field and saw nobody there I thought Dang! (again). Oh well maybe I will have a chance to say hello at the SHSU game.

Eagledawg,
I stayed for the Track Meet after the next to last Scrimmage. I will be there on Aug 23rd, @ 12:30pm, SHSU Game. If you come in from the Tailgating Upper Lot, we sit in the Red Back Seats, #'s 5-8, which is the 2nd row from the top, go through the gate, stay to your right under the Press Box, look down on left, you will see us. My new addition is our 5th Great Grand Child, I have had her in bed with me a few times, she is so observant. I think she loves my singing ;) ;) ;). She would start to cry, I then start to sing, she stops and start looking around, or maybe I scare her. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:    . Have a Great Sunday. Vic Wallace

To All,
Tomorrow is the "BIG" day for the better halves. From my family to yours, A Very Special Mothers Day. Hoping there are many more for you and yours. Today is a special day for my family. Mom left this world Aug. 17th, 1999, after 44 yrs, 7 months together, so I will go to the cemetery clean her Headstone, clean the grass from around the Headstones. Hoping all is well for everyone, and again, "HAPPY MOTHERS DAY" Vic Wallace and family

To All,
Forget at the Dinner Dance after the scrimmage, We saw Alex Smart, and Casey McGowin. Alex was Eric Meyers back up in football, he is now a Navy Pilot, and he was very happy to return to EWU for the gathering of all Eagle Fans. I always remember in one of our games at EWU, Eric got hurt, Alex took over and marched the team down and scored. He is at Fairchild for some type of TRAINING. Casey was at EWU in the early 90's, I couldn't remember him, but he remembered me, and I didn't arrest him    His last name could be spelled wrong. It always makes me feel great when people comes up to me and talk about the old times. Have a great weekend. p.s. Volley Ball Players will have their meals on May 19th @ 6.pm. Glad I am still here to provide for our PLAYERS and Coaches, LOVE doing it for all our Athletes. Vic Wallace

To All,
Made my regular trip to campus about 3:30pm yesterday, saw about 50 of our Players on the field playing some FB. They were the regulars, to many names to mention. Quarterback threw a pass, Tevin McDonald step in, made the pick and went approximately 95 yards and score. Of course that was fooling around on the field,no one wanted to run and attempt to catch him. He doesn't look like he had an injury to his ACL. Also saw Ronnie Hamlin, Cody McCarthy and others that were injured and sat out the Spring practices. August 23rd can't get here fast enough. I think this Friday is Torch Light Parade (Lilac Parade), Coach Baldwin will be the Parade Marshall, "with his bad self" ;) ;) ;). Monday is the Volley Ball Meal, RIBS are completed, in the Freezer waiting for those ladies to enjoy themselves at my residence. Thanks to EWU Momma, she supplied some information on getting the meals ready in advance, and just warm it up prior to the personnel arriving. Thank you lady, there in Colorado. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:    Good morning! Vic Wallace

talon 38,
I met a young man my next door neighbor attending Gonzaga University, he know both Jase and Evan, he is from Sammamish, his name is Kin King (something like that) I think. He is playing Soccer for GU, seems like a very polite young man. I told him I am glad his middle name doesn't begin with a "K" he said he was glad, and started smiling. They all got to know me, their Land Lord always let them know that A Retired Police Chief from EWU lives next door, so they supplied their phone numbers in case parties get noisy. ;) ;) ;). Enjoyed seeing the crew from the West Side at the Dinner/Dance on April 26th. Noticed the Wives were smiling when you got ready to leave, that means Husbands didn't spend much bread (money)   Take care! Vic Wallace
