Residual Market Plus

Ours is the Residual Market. The Residual Market is ours. In a sense, that is what we own---free and clear.

Take the Portland-Salem-Vancouver Metropolitan Statistical Area. Subtract off game-attending Duck fans, game-attending Beaver fans and game-attending small college fans. This then is the residual market, and that is ours for keeps. Still, there were plenty of Duck and Beaver fans who attended the Spring Game.

I guess you could say our market is the Residual Market Plus college football fans who, for whatever reason, are not attending their alma mater's game (such as in an Away Game situation), and who would still like to be in among their college game day action brethren---as a "right-here-in-the-backyard" substitution game. That is why it is so crucial to have a favorable game day experience for all those who attend (and to keep on improving the experience continously).

We can let those metro alums of other colleges and univerisities know the score of their game (we have to come up with a communication scheme) and maybe even show a game-winning highlight of theirs on the Jumbotron as a way to say "Thanks for coming out!" They could be from any number of colleges and universities across this great land of ours.

A highlight is unlikely. Other schools that have jumbotrons don't do that. However, score updates (which they already did by PA) could be put on the board.

I'm with you. Highlights of other local teams wouldn't sit well with me, but by all means, let's announce their scores over the PA or show them on a ticker/scoreboard.
