Sac has been up and down this season. They have the more talent than they have had in the past. They have the ability to beat anyone in our league, if they play their best game.

I think we win this one, but it will be a tight game. I expect that the game will be a lot like playing UND or MSU.

WSU 81 - UCSac 75

What do you think?

For some reason, I think it will be a lot more like last year where we win by more in Sac than we did at home.

We won by 11 at home last year won on the road by 15, this year we won at home by 9, Im thinking we win by at least 13 this time, this is a different Wildcat team since the last time we played them.

However, Sac has given us fits before in the Hornets nest, and we cant afford to let up now with Montana suffering with the injury bug right now.

Im thinking we win 72-59

I'm not much at making score predictions, but I do feel that the Cats will win. In my opinion this is the toughest test the Cats will face finishing out the regular season conference slate. Sac really needs their two final home games to be wins to ensure their place in the post-season tournament. Weber can't afford to drop any remaining games if the Cats want a chance at lifting our 20 Conference Championship trophy.

For the Cats to win, they have to do a better job of limiting Garrity. He tore us up here at the Dee in January. To open up lanes for him, Sac ran a bunch of high screens. The Cats shouldn't over pursue the high screens, since Garrity's range isn't the greatest. Yet, he is an excellent passer and can drive on anyone. Garrity is the biggest threat in this one. He is one of the best floor generals in the Big Sky. Veteto is also a worry, but Tres has really improved his defense and showed that he has really developed his defense with his game at Oral on Sat. So, I'm thinking their bigs shouldn't be that much of a worry. But still the Cats need to be wary. Dickson and Veteto are both solid players and they are seniors, they will want wins this week to close out their Sac careers. UM only beat the Hornets in Sac by 1. Playing in the nest isn't automatic. Thankfully, Weber has a lot of support in the Bay Area so I'm thinking there should be a good Weber State crowd on hand on Thursday.

Sac has really improved its defense, but it seems as the defense has improved their offense has become more stagnant. On Sat they won, but it was a 51-50 victory. YIKES

We’ve only scored more than 70 once in the past month (77 vs PSU). I doubt we score more than 70 against WSU and WSU is the hottest team in the Sky right now. We need wins against ISU this week and probably a win at UM (probably a loss but with their injuries there is a sliver of hope) or MSU to get in the BSCT.

We are a preparation team. We do our best when we have more than one day to prepare for a team. You can bet that Randy and the crew have gone through every game film they have on Sac. Right now, our scout team is running Sac's offence and defense, and probably doing a good job of it. I'm sure that the coaches were breaking down video on the plane ride home from Tulsa. I have often thought that it would be interesting to suit up the scout team and run a teams stuff against them for a few minutes at a home game. By the way, I hear that our red shirts and walk ons are doing very well this year. Next year they will already know the BSC, while they are learning our stuff. Red shirting is such a huge advantage for these guys. It's, almost, not fair. :yikes:

dont mess with a hornets nest at sac state.

I see you guys beating MSU and ISU, and making it into the tourney

Despite the Bobcat's annual fade point in the season, they'll be up for their biggest rival Griz, but I like Tinkle's coaching and want a Montana win. What I hope, wish, dream for is a T-bird win over Griz and for the MSU ratty Bobcats to lose out entirely...they've rained on Weber State's parade a couple of times now and flop in most other games (besides UM/WSU) this time of year. Bobcats -

Classless move by the Rivertucky player. Grabs our players glove, get pushed becuase of it then throws a punch that does nothing. :ohno:

I think you're right on - Stopping Garrity should be the Cats # 1 priority. I remember Garrity getting in the lane far too often in the previous meeting - I felt that whoever was guarding Garrity went over the high screen most of the time instead of going under, which allowed him to get in to the lane. I agree that the Cats shouldn't over pursue the high screens, and maybe go under a few more times. Can't slip up - Go Cats!

I expect the cats to do just what they did against UM. Just enough 'show' to stop the curl penetration down the lane, while not really switching on the pick or totally fighting over the screen. Just enough to slow things down and make Garrity think more than he wants to. Now, if he starts firing threes and hitting them, we will be forced to fight over the top a little more. We just want him to be in no mans land, with no clear choice on the shoot, pass, penetrate decision. Tres played it perfectly against UM and Cherry. It was frustrating him and Ward the whole first half. They did a little better in the second half against it, but still couldn't get it going. If Sac is planning to do pick and roll all night long, it may back fire on them. I think we are well prepared for that attack. I think Sac would be better served to go back and look at how YBU or Irvine attacked us, earlier in the season. I don't think it will make much difference in the end, our defense is playing at such a high level. When we turn up the presure, it is an awsome thing to see.

i think we will see a big crowd. sac is doing a whiteout so i think they will have a good student section. plus i assume berry, otis and jrich will all have family there. oh and hajek too. he has family in bay area. we have 4 players on our roster from 1 to 2 yr drive to sac state - otis, berry, jrich, sweat.

Sac is doing a 'White Out'? It doesn't even snow there. :wtf:

They aught to get an az kicking, just for that!

I'm excited for this game. I should be able to hustle home from the womens game and catch the second half.

I don't think that Sac will try to run with us. That would be a losing proposition. They will likely, try to slow it down to shorten the game. I expect that we will try to attack from the inside, out. Look for Tres to get a lot of touches early. :thumb:
