Why not prove it on the field instead of a message board? I think that the hornets are on the way up under their new coach. All the more reason to play this game.SlickPulla said:Sacramento State has too many athletes for Cal Poly to handle. Don't bring up the past, face facts.

No offense, but lately Sac State doesn't have the talent to beat anyone let alone Cal Poly, prove it on the field before saying something like that.

Didn't we have the same record in Conference last year! Our "talent" punished your quarterback for 57 minutes. We gave up a couple bombs late and lost a game that we dominated.
There have been many amazing games over the years. The overall record being tied at 15-15 shows that. I remember the year that Cal Poly won the DII National Championship they played Sac State the in the last regular season game and Sac handed them their lunch. I think that the game is good for each teams attendance numbers. As Sac State continues to get better under Sperbeck, those number will only increase.Kadeezy said:SloStang, I really do miss having CP on the schedule. It's really good for our attendance and when we played in 2006, the game was amazing.
The most probable reason that Sac State does not play Cal Poly anymore is recruiting. When they do not play they can say they are better than Cal Poly because they play in a better conference (the Big Sky). It is hard to sell that you are better than Cal Poly when they have beat you the last four or five years. I think that once Sperbeck get's Sac State to the top half of the Big Sky I think they will resume playing Cal Poly. The good thing is I think that will happen very quickly under Sperbeck. The guy is a winner.SlickPulla said:Like I said, too many athletes. Cal Poly players looks like children compared to the Hornets. But yeah, the Stangs and Hornets need to get one going pretty soon. Who needs Humboldt on the schedule?
People would be knocking on the AD's door if he did not play Davis. Not only that but Davis is the biggest attended game every year and money talks.Green Laser said:If that is the case why does Sac St. still play Davis? We haven't had too much luck against them in football lately although I predict that will change very soon! If Poly has won the last 5 games of the series and the series is tied at 15 Sac State must have been up 15-10 five years ago, not bad considering that Sac State was a nonscholarship program for many of those seasons while Poly had scholarships. The same goes for Davis and Poly.
