You were right...and I completely agree with you. Baiz needs to be fired or resign....seriously. Prevent Defense has never, EVER worked. All it does is prevent you from winning. See Causeway Classic, 2003.

no the team but time fire Baiz-jeez

Horrible defensive play calling. I know they just wanted the guaranteed win, but playing prevent the entire fourth quarter and going uber conservative on offense is a recipe for disaster.

A win is a win is a win though. I really doubt that spiritually the players will be upset with this...the bottom line is we won. I know the score isn't what we wanted, but some of you are really making this a bigger deal than it is. Except for the defensive play calling--that was atrocious.

The UNC QB has time to adjust the football before throwing. UNC RB walks in.

We will lose this game.

No, we won't.

Spiritually, emotionally yes we did. It might say W in the column but we got schooled. D is pathetic.

I dont think there is a word to explain what we just witnessed. OMG just terrible. So much for enjoying the win. Big relief Sac didn't allow probably the largest comeback in the HISTORY of COLLEGE FOOTBALL!!!!

I think we should nickname Baiz "They Hate Me" comeon If it werent for the fact we were up by 17 with 6 minutes left, we would have lost this game. Goes to show what I have said all along, Stupid grows on trees, and some harvest bigger crops than others.

And if the queen had balls, she'd be king. We didn't lose the game in case you didn't notice. Oh, and if the defense doesn't get two interceptions, we wouldn't have been up by 17 points, so let's blame the offense. Nice win Hornets. We used to always lose these games and now we are winning them. I could care less if its by 30 points or one as long as we win. A W is a W is a W.

HHD, I appreciate the spin doctor magic you are trying to pull on this game, but I have to say that I don't think many people will buy it. Yes we got the win, but it definately wasn't how everyone though it would be with the score 31-0 at half. Yes it's a win. That's about all the Hornets have to show for it. Blame this near disaster on the offense all you want, but anyone who just saw what happened knows where the blame really falls. :?

Dude, I normally agree with everything you say...but the bottom line is that we won. That's a fact, not spin doctor magic. Another fact is that we dominated this game and WE are the ones that let the Bears back into the game and almost cost ourselves the game because we shut it down early. But we won...we are not a good enough program yet where we should be concerned about style points. I thin you are making WAY too big a deal about this. The game was never in doubt....never. Some of you are acting like you have never seen another team do something like this...Go up way big and coast home.

I prob wouldnt have had an issue with today's game if we were a program like Montana. When you're trying to build up a program, if they had come back and won, would have been disasterous. Next week will tell us how the guys and COACHES have learned from what transpired today.

We will know we have turned the corner when we get a big lead and then do not ease up.

I can't blame the second half entirely on the defense. We need more productivity from our QB to take the pressure off of the running game.

It is a learning process and we have a young team. Let's enjoy the win and look to play a more complete game next week. And then crush the Ags.

I agree the bottom line is we won. The scoreboard proves that, but the fact of the matter is we were up 31-0 and let a lower tier BSC team climb back into it and make a game of it. Yes we did dominate...the first half, UNC definitely dominated the 2nd half. All I read is how this program is making progress and how great the future looks, but when this team takes a 31-0 lead at half, I expect the team to finish without this type of drama. If Sac State truly wants to be a contender in this conference, this type of sh!t wouldn’t happen against a team of UNC's caliber. If this was the first time the defense had a questionable performance, then yes, I would be making too big a deal about this, but this type of play calling a has been prevalent for much of the season. I'm just making a point that it is not acceptable and I am more disappointed that people on this board are trying to defend such a terrible meltdown against a sub-par opponent. Wake up and stop drinking the Cool-aid. This program still has plenty of room to improve is all I am trying to point out.

Not drinking Kool-Aid...Been watching hornet football for 25 years and have never been one for excuses. I just know that I've seen stuff like this happen for years all around football. So much bad stuff has happened to this program over the last decade that when the team actually wins, I'm going to enjoy it. Especially with the way the team came out in the first half.

It's obvious Sperbeck told the coaches to back off and kill the clock, and it became a slippery slope for the D. The longer they were on the field, the more tired they became.

You also have the curmudgeony Cookie Monster agreeing with you...point for me.
