This could be huge for recruiting... http://www.sacbee.com/2011/01/21/3340614/long-beach-poly-football-team.html#

Long Beach Poly High School, which lost to Grant in the 2008 CIF Open Division State Bowl championship game, will play the Pacers in the California Football Classic on Sept. 3 in Sacramento at a site to be determined.
Hornet Stadium? We are at Oregon State that weekend right?

Yeah, but availability hinges on the UFL schedule. Hopefully they don't require use of the stadium for any reason, because they have dibs.

I understand the basic idea of looking at the depth chart and filling spots but I don’t get the idea they’re looking for football players. Guys like Evander or Buck that could do anything you ask them to, either side of the ball.

Looks like we are fighting for another recruit according to Rivals.com. 5'11" 270 DT Marcus Paige-Allen from Sheldon High School has offers from both Sac State (visited 1/14) and Cal Poly (visiting 1/21).

Marcus Paige-Allen commits to Cal Poly according to the Sac Bee.

Sac State needs to take a look down south - San Diego. I've ref'd San Diego High School football for 12 years and this year's crop of seniors are incredible. Here's my top three Under-the-Radar football players (Solid 2-3 star players):

Travis Bernard - RB/DB (Valley Center High) 5-10/185
RIVALS All San Diego Section Player of the Year

Jose Sanchez - DL (Coronado High) 6-2/260
RIVALS All San Diego Section DL

Jonny Martin - RB (Cathedral High) 5-10/195
RIVALS All San Diego Section RB

All three players are being looked at by D-1 WAC/MWC programs. Great picks for Sac State!

The 2.5 GPA is a red flag anyways.
I was just following up on my previous post. I love to follow recruiting and would have posted it had he committed to Sac State.

As far as the 2.5 GPA, it did not seem to concern the Sac State staff either or they would not have offered him a scholarship.

Anything under a 3.0 is a red flag to me. We see these guys flame out every year due to academics. I wish him the best though, especially with the rigors of the CP classroom.

From my past experiences the posted GPA's of a recruit can be misleading. A recruits overall GPA may show a 3.2, but his core may only be a 2.5....trust me, the coaches are doing their homework before even offering these guys. With NCAA regulations restricting scholarships when graduation numbers aren't met, they have too. Their jobs depend on it...it's not the 70's or 80's anymore ;)

I see where the DLS DB Antoine Pickett has been offered by Sac St, hope we gt him. Hoping we can snatch Marcus Allen-Paige back, I like that kid. could be a good run stopper on the DL.

Here is a link to the St Marys-WR-Justin Cox.

These lists are only info sent to the sites from recruits, parents and coaches...never really verified, since colleges can't talk about recruits. So in a lot of cases there are offers that recruits list that aren't really offers, and then there are some that are never listed at all. Just a silly game played by coaches and players. Nobody really knows until signing day....

All time favorite signing day scam...

Let's hope Dano can change this trend!

Everyone relax, signing day is Wednesday. I have no problem with the coaches keeping their verbals close to the chest.

Except these aren't coaches keeping verbals close to their chest SD, this is recruits not commenting on the commit status...

Either way we will know who has committed to whom on Wednesday. If players still are undecided, the coaches can see what is still available and make a push to try and land them.
