• Hi Guest,

We've updated the site to combine all the forums that were part of the Big Sky Fans Network into one location. This will make it easier to navigate and participate in all the discussions for each school without having to have multiple accounts, etc. We are still working out some tweaks but please let us know if you notice anything.

With the migration, in some circumstances, your username could have been merged with one of your other usernames from the other forums. If this is the case, you can request to change your username in your account details page of your profile.

Brian, thanks...Good stuff.

Cal Poly's has been revamped since the last time UNC visited three years ago. Good to see the result.

One thing, though...we visit Missoula (UM) not Montana State this year...

Thanks, I fixed it. I envy you getting to go to all of those stadiums. I love visiting new sports venues. I remember going to the DII playoff game @ Pittsburg State and really enjoying a different atmosphere and what there fans had to offer. I try to go to at least one new college stadium each year (it's easy out here because there are so many).

I won't be renewing my season tickets with that schedule. Plus, we're horrible.

Please, enlighten us, what schedule were you expecting that would have made you renew your tickets?

You wanted CSU at home?

They play a full conference schedule and a home game against a DII... because funds are tight they needed to play a body bag game and another game with a cash guarantee...

I'd love to know what's so terrible about that?

It does stink that five of the first six games are on the road. We don't have a home conference game 'till week 7. That is really strange.

I want to see more games scheduled in September. Also, I don't ever want to see us schedule a D2 team that will probably beat us at home (Chadron St)

I'm with you on that...I take pride in the fact I've been to every one of the old Big 8 football stadiums for at least one game, save for OU.

Beyond that, my BCS football list is limited, as is my MLB list--Royals/Kauffman Stadium & Coors Field. Unfortunately, I don't know that I'll be able to get to Yankees Stadium before the new place is on line. Not that I'd cheer the Yankees--I'd just like to get there and see Monument Park and where George Brett's 1980 series homer and Pine Tar homers landed ;)

The lack of games in Sep does suck. I think we got the shaft on the conference rotation this year. Although games in oct are not nearly as hot, the student section is a fryer at noon on an 80 degree day. Speaking of noon games, are they ever going to put up lights at NF? Night games would be awsome! and I think attendance would be better without the heat...

Looking at it realistically I'd say this season will look something like this

9-1 at Hawaii LOSS- Blowout like you have never seen one
9-8 vs Chadron State WIN- This day UNC begins to act like an FCS school
9-15 at San Diego WIN/LOSS- This team still has some talent in it, toss up
9-23 at N. Arizona LOSS- NAU is to much for UNC on Offense
9-29 at Cal Poly LOSS- Cal Poly is tough to beat, especially down there.
10-6 at Idaho State WIN/LOSS- This game is probably a win but you never know
10-13 vs Weber State WIN/LOSS- 2 days ago I would have said easy win, then Jimmy Barnes talk came up.
10-20 at Montana LOSS- Never
10-27 vs Montana State WIN/LOSS- Tough to say what will happen with MSU
11-3 at a E. Washington LOSS- This team will be back atop the league
11-10 vs Sac State WIN- Sac State won't be able to score enough
11-17 at Portland State LOSS- Refer to the NAU game

Sorry, but my crystal ball says something different.

9-1 at Hawaii LOSS- Closer than everyone expected.
9-8 vs Chadron State WIN- This day UNC begins to act like an FCS school
9-15 at San Diego WIN- UNC has no trouble.
9-23 at N. Arizona WIN/LOSS- NAU is good, but could be beat.
9-29 at Cal Poly WIN/LOSS- Cal Poly is tough to beat but, UNC is on a roll and wants revenge from their last loss.
10-6 at Idaho State WIN- This game is probably a win.
10-13 vs Weber State WIN- Could be UNC's biggest score of the year.
10-20 at Montana WIN/LOSS- Stranger things have happened.
10-27 vs Montana State WIN/- MSU is doomed to their worst season in years.
11-3 at a E. Washington Win- This team just didn't pan out like everyone they thought they would.
11-10 vs Sac State WIN- Sac State won't be able to score enough
11-17 at Portland State Win- PSU's run and shoot turns out to only shoot blanks all season.

Budbear - 7 guaranteed wins and a couple of tossup games. I hope you are right but that would be one heck of a turnaround for what will be a very young team.

I would hope to see 3-4 wins at a minium.

9-1 at Hawaii LOSS- Blowout like you have never seen one
9-8 vs Chadron State WIN- This day UNC begins to act like an FCS school
9-15 at San Diego WIN - Provided UNC does not blow it
9-23 at N. Arizona LOSS- NAU is to much for UNC on Offense
9-29 at Cal Poly LOSS- Cal Poly is tough to beat, especially down there.
10-6 at Idaho State WIN This game is probably a win but you never know
10-13 vs Weber State WIN - We were one play away last year
10-20 at Montana LOSS- Never
10-27 vs Montana State WIN/LOSS- Tough to say what will happen with MSU
11-3 at a E. Washington LOSS- This team will be back atop the league
11-10 vs Sac State WIN- Sac State won't be able to score enough
11-17 at Portland State LOSS- PSU will be chasing Montana for the top spot.

Allright, I'll give it a shot here:

at Hawaii LOSS - no chance for the bears but great payday!
vs Chadron State WIN - No RMAC team comes into Nottingham and gets a victory - period.
at San Diego WIN - new coach, new system bodes well for the bears.
at N. Arizona LOSS - to much firepower especially in AZ
at Cal Poly LOSS - too tough right now.
at Idaho State TOSSUP
vs Weber State TOSSUP
at Montana LOSS - the Griz are loaded this year
vs Montana State - TOSSUP - what a mess in Bozeman
at E. Washington LOSS - another road loss
vs Sac State WIN - time to return Sac State to the doormat of the BSC
11-17 at Portland State - LOSS hate to admit it but PSU looks to be loaded. I think we will give them more of a game than they want though, especially with a potential playoff spot on the line.

So that puts me at 3 wins with 3 tossup games. So I will have to predict a 1-2 record in the tossup games for an overall record of 4-8. I cannot believe that will be a step up, but it is where we are at.

I doubt more then 4 wins, It will take awhile before UNC can compete with everyone in the conference.

You might want to wait on your period. :D

You might want to wait on your period.

Chadrock - it looks like you will have a nice squad this year and I wish you luck in every game except this one next year. I stand by my period though - I don't think you are going to come into Greeley and win. The staff knows that would devastate the Bears season with an opening game blowout and then a majorly demoralizing home loss. The Bears will be ready and you won't catch them overconfident like you did MSU last year.
