This is a good matchup for EWU....SE MO will have had 3 weeks off and will need to come play us in the cold weather, they may be a little rusty. Looking forward to doing some damage in the playoffs and getting a possible rematch with the Cats.

...with a healthy tj!

Looks like SEMO has an explosive running game in Peyton Award Candidate Henry Harris. He has 1627 yards in 11 games with 17 TD's. He is averaging 147 yards per game. He had a 293 yard game on Nov. 6th versus SW Baptist. Looks to be a tough match-up for our Eags Defense. Here is Harris's Peyton Campain

A match-up between two leading Payton Award Candidates. Should be a good one.

I am actually glad we are playing a more run based team, it seems to bode better for our defense - although we have been run on at times, we have generally held our own against some really good backs. If we drew against a team like SUU, I'd be really worried.

This game is certainly winnable, and it might be blessing in disguise to have gotten the #5 seed - we know who we are going to be playing, the top seeds do not. That, plus a potential re-match with MSU the following week is going to make this an interesting run. Most Bobcat fans seem overly confident that they'd give us another beat-down like they did in September. This team is light years ahead of how we were playing back then, and I don't see that happening. One game at a time, though! On to SEMO and go Eags!!!

Good luck next week. Make the Big Sky proud. I was a little disappointed that both Big Sky teams were on the same side of the bracket.

We have to take care of business ourselves and if we do earn the right to play you again, I expect quite the battle. I have a lot of respect for how your team performs on both sides of the ball.

Sounds like if Eastern gets up at all in vs SEMO, they (SEMO) could be in trouble. Not much of a pass threat and you can stack the box against stud RB Harris. Easten has struggled against the BIG passing teams this year, and this is not one of them. I like Eastern 35-17, to go 6-0 at home this year in the cold weather.

I don't know what to think of this one. Traditionally, we have struggled against option style teams. Thing is, we really haven't played a real option team in a number of years (Air Force?) so it's hard to gauge. I do think we have a good amount of depth on the defensive line and we're playing well enough there and in the lb corp to cause their running game some problems. I won't make any predictions on this one, as I just don't know enough about SEMO. I do think we'll be able to move the ball. We'll just have to see how this one plays out.

We haven't played a TRUE option team in a long time. The pistol is a modified option, and we played two pistol teams this year... really playing quite well against both. I mean, we gave up 49 v. Nevada, but that's a lot better than many of their FBS brethren have done.

It'll be interesting to see how our defense fares against a team truly committed to running the football. One would've assumed Portland State was committed to it, but we hit them hard on their first couple of series and they decided to pack it in and become a finesse passing team.

Speed is something that does not show up in the stats and is difficult to compare until both teams are on the field. I would hope that our line backers will be able to string out plays around the ends and corners and safety will shut them down.
I am tired of talking about the game already and we still have over a week to wait.
Lets PLAY BALL!!
Go Eags!!

It's the Eagle way:) what time is everyone planning on tailgating? I'll probably be in the RV section by 730am or so. Little known fact, cars can buy rv spots...they're more expensive, but it's a guaranteed tailgate spot:)
