With spring ball approaching, what is everyone expecting from the team? What would you all like to see?
I personally am excited to see the QB battle between Rubs, Brock, and Jon.. Going to be a good one
also, anyone going to attend the quad a thon this year? I plan on going to see the strength improvements of the team and speed as well from Dinks great speed and strength program
Isnt it crazy how much injuries have gone up since Joe was fired and they brought in Dink?
hno:
Crazy... Dinks program has hurt more athletes than helped..
Lifting weights to their max isnt good on joints and muscles.. Here you have kids and the coaches trying to get the kids to throw as much weight on the bar as they can take and it destroys knees and so on.. No wonder there have been so many knee and back injuries and things like that... Probably the dumbest program I have seen.
When kids get injured they are punished on what dink calls "muscle beach" where he puts them through a pretty tough workout when they should be getting treatment and resting...
This is simply not true. Now, not using proper technique when doing so will cause injury yes, but your statement as it is does not hold up as true. Look at how few injuries there are in olympic weight lifting if you need evidence of this, I'd say those athletes are putting up some serious weight. Now, if they are not taught proper technique and are lifting heavy in addition to that then injuries can occur yes.
I can tell you CSU-P players do max, or very close to it (90 or 95%) during the offseason during their heavy lifting cycle. Low reps combined with heavy weights is one of the best ways to become an explosive football athlete. Their injury rate is not higher due to this and they have been pretty successful pretty quickly, the S&C program is a huge reason for that.
I'm not saying your S&C program is good or bad, I just don't like inaccurate information about it being spread.
