SPRING BALL STARTS TODAY!

I thought about heading down to Greeley to check it out but it's supposed to snow. Should be interesting to see a couple position battles - QB, yes Orms will have the advantage but Baca and Dean will push. The offense should be much improved with Peterson. He wants to give the ball to the best players.

Defense - I'm concerned again with our linebackers and lack of speed. The d-line should improve with that Wyoming DT transfer. Who's going to step in for Hewitt at safety?

Would Orms have an advantage if they go to a pro style offense? I was under the impression that he was more of a runner.

"Bd", I don't know what you mean when you say: "Who's going to step in for Hewitt at safety?" Why would anyone be stepping in for Hewitt? He's an all conference player and will be a senior this fall. Could you possibly have meant: who's going to be stepping in for Michon or Lutz? They are the only two, that I know of, who finished their college ball and saw significant playing time last year.
And IMO, the linebacker corps was one of the strengths of last years defense. With King, Eddy, and Friend providing the base they should be a pretty stout unit. If I'm not mistaken, both Eddy and King were all conference selections.

To answer Brian's question: I don't think Orms will have an advantage in a pro-style offense. He is definitely a run oriented QB. That's probably the worst offense you could put him in. He's a run first, pass second or third type QB. If he's mostly handing off to his running backs or doing quick hits to the tight end, that might work.

I thought Hewitt graduated. My bad.

As for the offense, I doubt there will be whole-sale changes. When teams get new coordinators there's gradual changes, I believe. Orms will still be the man on offense in my opinion.
