Spring Football

Now that Spring football has started, I hope that those of you in the Greeley area would keep us up on what things look like back there and maybe take some photos to post on this site. I'm getting excited about this coming season and I'm looking forward to a winning season.

Thanks for the roster. As always, tons of Colorado kids. Not sure if it's good or bad but it is nice to see.

A few noticeable changes on the roster. Andy Muns isn't on the roster. The Tribune said he retired because of chronic knee injuries, Mike Vlahoogeorge isn't around and Schrenk switched from QB to LB.

I have a question for those in the know. Is the fact that our roster is overwhelmingly Colorado based players a sign that we don't have the funds to recruit out of state or is it that we can find enough quality FCS players in State?

It's a resources issue but part of the student fee thing that passed a few ago was to better fund recruiting. I think they have expanded out of state recruiting in the last few years, prior to that we were like 95% in state and now it's like what, 80%?

Of the 75 players they have listed with their high school, 60 are from Colorado and 15 are from out of state. That is exactly 80% Colorado.

We have 7 or 8 depending on how you count Dunkley, from California (10%). The rest are spread out, 2 from Oklahoma, 1 from Virginia, one from DC, one from Texas and one from NH.

Good to see everyone stuck around. Vlahoogeorge I think was a senior this past year. It'll be interesting to see how Schrenk will be at LB, but seems logical though, as Baca, Deen and maybe Orms are the future at QB.

I think they'll go into spring as -#1 Bdub, #2 Orms and #3 Baca. We're deep at that position.

D Line should be improved. I like Nick Hernon and Kolone. I don't know about the depth though. You could probably say the same thing about LB though. We lost some decent talent at LB through graduation. John Eddy should be fine at that position, hopefully he will stay healthy.

No clue. I just noticed that though. He played quite a bit didn't he?
