Spring Practice Thread

Lets just say my reasoning is that I went and watched quite a few practices last fall and the kid was amazing to watch for only being a frosh. He is one of the purest passers that I have seen play the game.

The only reason I defend him is for the fact that everybody seems to believe that White will start for the fact that he came from D1-Colorado so he much be a better QB if he was recruited to play at that level. When in fact I believe that Tygue has just as much of a chance to start as White does. Both are very talented when it comes to playing the position.

Very true but the fact that white came out of nowhere onto the team and nearly beat UM after being in town for only a week says something. Like I said whoever gets the R&S offense down the best will get the start.

Will be interesting to see if Kavenaugh (sp?), the kid who led Portland's Lincoln High into the playoffs for two years, redshirts or gets his shot at QB. He's not very big, though, so I wouldn't even be surprised to see him moved to a different position altogether.

I'd like to see him redshirt. A year in the program will be better than game snaps and burning a year.

What about Hubel? Why does everybody talk about Kavanaugh while overlooking the other recruit, who just happens to be significantly more gifted from a physical standpoint? Either, way, I vote for redshirting them both.

Although I think Howland and White may be equally gifted, the fact remains that White has taken more snaps in game. Since Howland's extra experience at PSU is negated by the new coaching staff, I'd think that White just barely tips the scales. However, if Howland is obviously better, we'll see him. I'm looking forward to the spring game.

Hubel ran an offense similar to the R&S in offense, he will definitely get into the mix in the future

I'll catch a couple practices and will definately be at the game. ESPN is scheduled to be there for a day during the first week of practice for a show they are filming.

Yikes! He won't be moving. Size is over rated! Ask Doug Flutie. This kid is PSU's future. He looks like another Chris Crawford.

I don't think he's changing positions---especially this year. However, I think the only way he'll see playing time this year is if we see some major injuries.

With Glanville and Mouse this will probably be the most exciting spring for PSU in a long time! Heck, it'll be a lot of fun I'll tell you that!

How exciting. Really looking forward to this year. Hopefully the system is easy for them to pick up. I should say "systems".
